System: “Want to be resurrected? Then come suffer.”
21-year-old college student Ming Ming was too busy checking out a hot guy to notice the oncoming car. She got hit and was unexpectedly bound to a Quick Transmigration System.
Her mission? To play the role of a tragic cannon-fodder side character, enduring endless pain and heartbreak, all to highlight the heroine’s rise to greatness and the happiness of the main couple.
But in the very first world, things already went off script. Ming Ming found herself forced to sign an unfair contract with the cold, domineering CEO male lead.
System: “Relax. No matter how much the plot changes, the cannon-fodder ex-girlfriend always gets humiliated in the end.”
Ming Ming: “But… he’s not even looking at the heroine.”
System: “That’s just the groundwork for a long, painful ‘chasing-his-wife’ arc!”
Ming Ming: “The heroine’s already with someone else, though.”
System: “You’re hogging too much screen time. Hurry up and stir up some drama! Make him dump you!”
Ming Ming: “Um… he’s giving me more now…”
Then came the Second World. The male lead was a city-educated youth forced to marry the village chief’s domineering daughter—aka Ming Ming. Meanwhile, the heroine was living in the city, his pen pal and emotional soulmate.
System: “Perfect. He even sent money and ration coupons in his letters to her. He wants nothing to do with you.”
Ming Ming: “So… we’re getting divorced? I was gonna run away with the kinda-handsome village gangster.”
System: “Wait, he asked the heroine to send him specialty snacks from the city… because life in the countryside is hard and he wants to get treats for his wife?!”
Ming Ming: “Huh? So… we’re not divorcing? Is this world almost over? I’m craving egg yolk mooncakes, ox-tongue pastries, taro rolls… blegh—ugh!”
System: “Wait—why are you pregnant?!”
Ming Ming (panicking): “When’s the divorce?! I don’t want to have a kid, aaahhh—!”
Next was the Third World. Ming Ming entered the palace as the illegitimate daughter, accompanying her sister’s marriage to the emperor. She was meant to make her elegant sister shine… but through a twist of fate, she became the emperor’s favored consort.
System: “It’s fine. The emperor always builds up a glittering ‘decoy consort’ to draw attention and protect his true love.”
Ming Ming: “Oh god, all the shady stuff is being aimed at me… wait—why is he disbanding the harem?! What about the heroine?!”
System: “What do you mean, what about the heroine?! She just eloped with someone else!!”
Ming Ming: “The emperor’s going after her! He’s going—wait… huh? Something feels off…”
System: “The heroine took the phoenix seal with her! The emperor took it back! Who’s he giving it to now?! YOU???”
Ming Ming: “I-I-I-I don’t want it!! Honestly, there’s this stall outside the palace that sells the most amazing baked flatbreads. I just want to be their apprentice…”
Emperor Male Lead, to the imperial guards: “Go. Camp at that flatbread stall and wait for her to show up.”
And so it continued, world after world.
System (exhausted and confused): “Where’s my heroine?! No wait—how are you still passing the missions?!”
Ming Ming (loving it): “Are there more? Let’s go! Start the next round!”
Chapter 52 part 2 is missing
Who would have thought that chapter got thrown off after chapter 74 part 3
Honestly, this wasn’t a very good story. It could have been, but everything just fell short.
