“Are you still going to school tomorrow?”

Ming Ming thought for a moment. With the blond guy and the male lead at school, it wasn’t that boring anymore. She nodded. “Yeah, I’ll go.”

The next day, Xiao Yunmu once again drove Ming Ming to school in a very high-profile way. After she got out of the car, he leaned out the window and reminded her, “Study hard. Don’t run around after school. I’ll come pick you up.”

Ming Ming thought he was nagging, waved her hand, and walked into the school gates.

On the way, she ran into Yin Muya.

“What a coincidence.” Yin Muya linked arms with her and kept glancing toward the school gate. “Your brother is so good to you, picking you up and dropping you off every day. I really envy you. If I had a brother like that, I’d probably be as happy as you.”

Ming Ming said guiltily, “It’s just okay. He’s pretty annoying—controls everything and won’t even let me date early. Having a brother isn’t as great as you imagine.”

But to Yin Muya’s ears, that sounded like blatant bragging.

She hated her even more.

“Haha, you’re really funny. I guess that’s what it means to be blessed and not know it,” Yin Muya thought to herself. As expected, a fake can’t handle real good fortune.

Ming Ming stared at him suspiciously. Wu Liang shyly scratched his “pudding” hair.

“Let’s break off our friendship! We’re enemies from now on!” Ming Ming shouted angrily.

Why was Ming Ming so mad?

Because she’d already noticed Yin Muya’s pride. On the surface, that girl said she was helping Ming Ming with studying, but in reality, it felt more like condescending charity. Yin Muya’s expression looked terrible. She didn’t stay there long before leaving.

Showing off felt amazing.

But it only felt good for a short while.

Even though this score was impressive, Ming Ming’s expectations were tied to Xiao Yunmu’s promise. She’d been dreaming about the helicopter and the night view, and when the results came out, she missed it by just a little—yet that little made all the difference.

She felt fine at first, but after walking away, she felt more and more depressed. The helicopter was gone. The night view was gone. Who knew if Xiao Yunmu would even laugh at her later for boasting so confidently?
