TFRLTOP Chapter 78 Part 2

Once he finished, he moved on to the rest of the clutter. Ming Ming’s space stored everything—apples, cucumbers, a cracked flowerpot (which he discreetly swapped for a matching one), and even a few bags of seeds.

Guan Yi sighed. Tomorrow, he’d need to explain to the others not to dump random junk in his wife’s space. It’s not a recycling bin!

Then he noticed a strangely patterned cloth bundle in the corner. Bigger than the seed bags and oddly familiar, like something from a museum or a historical drama.

It wasn’t from their bedroom. It must have come from Ming Ming’s space.

Curious, he opened it—and found a bag full of gold, silver, and jewelry. Gold and silver ingots, hairpins, jade bracelets, and gemstones—basically screaming valuable.

If it weren’t the apocalypse, Ming Ming would be worth millions.

Guan Yi carefully picked it up to store safely—but as soon as he lifted it, the treasure spilled onto the floor, making enough noise to stir Ming Ming. She murmured in her sleep, and he slowed his movements.

Once she was sound asleep again, he quietly cleaned up the pile.

Among the treasures, he found something unusual, making him frown thoughtfully.

The next morning, Ming Ming woke to see Guan Yi sitting beside her, frightening her.

“Awake?” he asked.

Her memories of last night came flooding back. Meeting his eyes fully awake made her flush with embarrassment.

Guan Yi noticed immediately. She remembered. She hadn’t regretted anything. She remembered him.

She shyly inched toward him, arm curling around his waist, burying her face against him, softly calling, “Guan Yi… Guan Yi…”

His heart skipped a beat.

She was shy… and she wanted him.

Guan Yi could hardly contain his joy. He scooped her up, fumbling for words, “You… last night… you remember… did you…?”

Ming Ming tilted her head, confused.

It didn’t matter.

He pressed his lips to hers, needing to pour all the emotion he felt into the kiss.

“Mmm… it’s early in the morning…” Ming Ming murmured, pushing gently against his chest.

“Baby… let me hold you,” he coaxed.

Just awake, she was already in his arms, dazed and clinging, wondering if men were always this energetic in the morning.

After several more exchanges, she finally got breakfast—well, lunch by that point. Wrapped in a blanket on the bed, Guan Yi held her, wanting to feed her bite by bite.

“…Am I paralyzed?” she asked, half-joking.

Guan Yi poked her leg under the blanket teasingly. “Or maybe try walking a few steps?”

She glared, and he quickly withdrew, letting his tentacles massage her legs to relieve soreness.

“Wait… it actually works?” Ming Ming thought, pleasantly surprised. Despite his tentacles, he wasn’t associating them with anything perverse—he was just helping.

Good. Keep your purity, she thought, giving him an approving glance.

After breakfast, she lounged at the head of the bed and noticed the pile of sanitary pads at the corner. “Why are these here?”

“You forgot?” Guan Yi asked casually.

Ming Ming pondered, then gasped, “I dropped them? How did I… drop stuff again?”

“Good question,” he said with a sly smile, deciding not to tell her he’d spent the whole night tidying. Instead, he changed the topic.

“These aren’t the important ones. Last night, you dropped something more… personal. I checked it and set it aside for you.”

“What?”

Ming Ming still didn’t realize the gravity of the situation—until she saw him pull out a cloth bundle and reveal something shocking inside.

She gasped, eyes wide.

“You…” she stammered. “Why are you digging through my things?”

“Yeah, my bad,” he said, unfazed. “Is this from your… ex?”

Ming Ming’s expression shifted. Finally, she said, “It’s part of my family’s dowry.”

“Oh?” Guan Yi held it up and teased, “Your parents were… generous.”

“Mind your own business!” she snapped.

He gave her a pointed look, lips curving into a meaningful smile.

“Baby… I want to try something.”

He climbed onto the bed, reaching under the covers.

“No! You don’t want to!” Ming Ming protested, tugging at the blanket.

But she couldn’t pull him off, so she tried bluffing, “No! I won’t give in—”

She struggled, trying to reason, “Guan Yi, listen! Wait—don’t—!”

Having breached the defenses, Guan Yi finally paused, letting her speak.

“Do you know what this is? It’s an antique! Who knows who used it hundreds of years ago? Maybe even traces of disease or… viruses!”

She felt she had the moral high ground and glared at him. “Are you trying to kill me?”

Guan Yi kept moving, enjoying her reactions, and calmly reassured her, “Don’t worry, that’s just superstition. Trust modern science, baby.”

She stared at him. “What do you mean?”

He paused, then said, “I sterilized it with alcohol. You’re safe.”

Ming Ming blinked. She was ready to argue—but at least, for now, she could breathe.
