Chapter 93 — The Young Master’s Fake Little Sister
“We have no future together!”
“You’re planning to thank me like this?”
Ming Ming feigned surprise, shamelessly saying, “What? Isn’t this enough? This is filled with all my sincerity and love for you!”
She blinked innocently. “Aren’t you touched? Don’t you feel like treating me a little better now?”
“Oh, I’m touched all right—to death!” Xiao Yunmu sneered, pinching her cheek. “How do you even have the nerve to say that with a straight face, huh?”
Ming Ming gave him a bashful grin, looking like she really deserved a beating.
In her mind, she was already planning. Once the truth about the real and fake daughters came out, the biological siblings would definitely stand together, and there’d be no place left for a fake like her. If Xiao Yunmu didn’t hold a grudge, she’d visit him on holidays like paying respects to an elder. But if he decided to settle scores on behalf of his real sister… well, she’d just run off with the male lead.
The system said, “You haven’t considered that the male lead, being the heroine’s childhood sweetheart, might fall for you instead?”
Ming Ming replied confidently, “Do I even need to think about that? In every world before this, the male lead fell for me—this one won’t be any different!”
The system fell silent.
It couldn’t help recalling how the main system had once raged over her antics. Something told it this wouldn’t be simple.
Xiao Yunmu said coolly, “I was going to take you to the amusement park, but now… forget it.”
“What?” Ming Ming yelped. “Forget it? Why?!”
“No way, we can’t just cancel! Let’s go right now!”
Xiao Yunmu shook his head with an air of calm detachment. “No. I need to save up for my retirement. After all, I’ll have to support you, freeloading off me for life.”
“You’re worried about that?” Ming Ming said mysteriously, clasping her hands together. “I have a brilliant plan.”
He raised an eyebrow. “Let’s hear it.”
“It’s simple! Just transfer all your assets to me. That way you won’t ever have to worry about money again—or about me mooching off you. I’ll take care of you from now on!” she said, brimming with enthusiasm.
Xiao Yunmu rolled his eyes. “Right. I keep working, keep running the company, and hand over every cent to you, huh?”
“Yes, exactly! That’s it!” she nodded eagerly.
With a cold smile, he grabbed the back of her collar, lifted her up, and dropped her on the ground. “Walk five minutes straight, then turn right at the gate.”
She blinked. “You want me to wait there while you get the car?”
“No. I mean, there’s a service center there. You can tell the staff you’re lost.”
Ming Ming: QAQ
“No! Bro—brother—you can’t abandon me! You’ve worked so hard to raise me all plump and cute! What if I starve for a few days and get all skinny again?!”
Clinging to his leg, she burst into dramatic tears.
Xiao Yunmu looked down at her. “If you’re willing to add a bag of vegetable-flavored milk to your diet…”
She instantly let go, her face going blank. “Goodbye.”
Then she turned and walked toward the service center.
“…Tch.”
Xiao Yunmu caught up to her in a few strides. “Get back here!”
Ming Ming ignored him and quickened her pace.
In the end, he had to yank her back by the neck.
“Fine. Let’s go to the amusement park.”
“You should’ve just ditched me,” Ming Ming muttered, still haunted by the thought of vegetable milk. She was determined to cut ties with this cheap brother once and for all.
I’d rather wander the streets than drink that stuff!
The two struggled like they were in a tug-of-war—she pulling one way, he the other—drawing curious stares from passersby.
Finally, Xiao Yunmu just hoisted her onto his shoulder and strode off.
“Don’t push your luck. If you keep this up, you’re going back to kindergarten tomorrow!”
“I want to be a stray! Let me be a stray kid!”
“Stray my ass!” he growled through gritted teeth.
Once he tossed her into the car, Ming Ming quieted down immediately.
Xiao Yunmu smirked. “Go on, scream some more.”
Ming Ming gave a cheeky grin. “We’re going to the amusement park, right?”
“No.”
But despite his words, his hands on the wheel told a different story. The car drove straight to the amusement park.
The park was holding a crossover event with a popular cartoon, full of new decorations and giant mascots—kids were everywhere, delighted.
“Wow! The Pleasant Goat Paradise!” Ming Ming pressed her face against the car window.
“You like that?” Xiao Yunmu asked casually.
“It’s fine,” she said modestly, though in her head she was already thinking: If I remember right, there are over two thousand episodes of Pleasant Goat. That would make perfect background noise while using my tablet.
Perfect. She’d do that later.
He held her hand as they walked inside. Everything caught her eye—she was fascinated by everything she saw. Xiao Yunmu bought her a fairy wand, a sheep ear headband, and even a pair of gossamer fairy wings that little girls seemed to love.
It looked a bit silly, but hey—she was just a kid. Kids didn’t have refined taste. If other children had them, his little sister had to as well.
Ming Ming didn’t care much about dressing up, letting her brother fuss over her like she was a doll. But she did love those wings.
He could tell she was obsessed—she kept glancing over her shoulder to check them out. Since she couldn’t really see them well from her angle, Xiao Yunmu took out his phone and filmed her every few steps.
“Let me see! Let me see!” Ming Ming tugged at his pants, jumping up and down.
