TFRLTOP Chapter 15 Part 2

“A flattering one,” Ming Ming replied casually.

For some reason, that comment hit a nerve. He stammered, a faint blush creeping across his face.

“Hmph, lucky for you…”

“Your taste is impressive. Most people wouldn’t notice.”

“What?”

“How did you know my benefactor treats me so well?” Ming Ming asked, lifting her chin with pride. “He doesn’t hesitate to spend on me!”

She rattled off a string of teasing remarks. “Why are you wearing last season’s shoes today, and not even limited edition? Why not get the limited edition? Don’t want to? Not enough pocket money? You’re not thinking about finding a sugar daddy who can buy you the exclusive sneakers, are you? I could even introduce you to one—though I can’t promise they’d go behind the scenes for you.”

Ming Ming scrutinized him from head to toe, as if seriously evaluating his worth.

When had the eldest son of the He family ever been humiliated like this? He immediately wanted to lunge at her, but Ye Weiran quickly pulled Ming Ming back.

At that moment, a tall girl with big, wavy hair appeared and shouted at He Chengtian, “Stop causing trouble! Dad said If you fight at school again, he’s sending you to the army!”

She tugged He Chengtian toward the other side of the field and, while passing by, kicked a few of his lackeys. “You lot just watch for fun and stir things up. If you pick a fight again, none of you will get away with it!”

“He Lu, don’t interfere! I’m going to beat her today—”

“How can a grown man have the face to hit a woman? You’re shameless, but I’ve still got face, and so does Dad!” He Lu twisted his ear and barked, “Now go run a thousand meters!”

He Lu pointed at the other lackeys, who all hurriedly nodded and apologized. Before leaving, she shot Ming Ming a glare that could freeze fire.

Ming Ming looked back innocently.

What? This isn’t my problem.

Ye Weiran tried to console her, “It’s fine, it’s fine. Nothing to worry about. Just avoid them in the future. There’s no way we can mess with these rich kids.”

Ming Ming shot him a cold look, thinking, Both of them will cling to you later; I won’t be so lucky. Avoiding them? That’s impossible.

Nothing good happened today.

“I’m leaving,” Ming Ming said irritably, not wanting to stay a second longer.

Her beautiful outfit no longer looked luxurious after the ordeal.

She arrived flashy, left bedraggled.

No wonder they say, “A pheasant in gold trim is still just a pheasant.”

Yeah, wherever I go, I’m always the supporting character.

In a sour mood, Ming Ming ignored the system. Even it knew there was nothing good in store for a villainess.

Since she was going to be bullied anyway, she might as well enjoy a little show of dominance while she could. But, just like Sun Wukong couldn’t escape the palm of Buddha, as a supporting female character, Ming Ming’s life would never be smooth sailing.

The car that came to pick her up was the same orange Cayenne from that morning. Ming Ming climbed in under everyone’s watchful eyes, leaving endless speculation behind.

“She’s really riding with a rich guy, huh?”

“Porsche Cayenne… how much is that?”

“When she came back to school a couple of days ago to move her things, she was in a Cayenne too, just not this color.”

“Oh my God… she didn’t hook up with some old man, did she?”

“Who knows? Didn’t people say she was ‘kept’ before? She’s got her ways…”

Ye Weiran, listening to the gossip, trembled with anger. “Why can’t she just have a normal relationship? Instead of gossiping, think about whether you’ll find a job after graduation!”

Someone in the crowd snickered, “I can go home and leech off my parents. Can you?”

The remark hit Ye Weiran right in the heart. She turned pale instantly.

Most of the school knew his situation, even organizing a group donation before.

A nearby student nudged the talker but didn’t say more—just a reminder not to go too far.

He Lu, passing by after scolding her brother, pointed at him like a true big sister: “Watch your mouth! Don’t force me to slap you!”

The guy clicked his tongue and left with his friends.

Some people are like that: cruel to the weak, submissive to the strong. Their hidden malice finds an outlet when they can oppress someone. They feel powerful… until a higher-ranking person comes along, and they scurry back to their place.

At home, Ming Ming kicked off her shoes in the most defiant way. When a servant bent down to pick them up, she grabbed them first, neatly placed them, and whispered, “Sorry.”

The servant waved it off.

Master Huo arrived even earlier. “Why didn’t you answer the phone?”

She ignored him, leaving a heavy “I hate you” in her wake, sniffling as she went upstairs to hide in the guest room.

Huo Xiao raised an eyebrow—her nerve was growing.

Noticing her wrinkled, slightly dusty clothes, Master Huo sent someone to check.

“Master Huo, Miss Chu ran 800 meters at school today…”

He didn’t know about the conflict with the He family boy.

Huo Xiao heard this and thought of her sore arms and legs from moving luggage a few days ago.

He smiled silently and went upstairs to comfort her.
