Chapter 108 — The Young Master’s Fake Little Sister
“Every time Ming Ming gets a ‘bright idea,’ she feels like a genius.”
Xiao Yunmu looked genuinely stunned by what Ming Ming had just said, as if his brain hadn’t fully caught up.
Meanwhile, Ming Ming felt extremely clever.
In that split second, she’d already mentally listed the “advantages” of taking their confusing relationship one step further:
First:
It would get her out of her current misery.
Seriously — what kind of college student gets pinned down and forced to do high-school biology practice problems?
Unacceptable. Protest. Rebellion.
Second:
Maybe it would change how Xiao Yunmu treated her.
“Little sister” and “girlfriend” were completely different job titles.
A future where she ruled over him like a queen was right in front of her.
Third:
Let’s be honest — the man was handsome, built well, and probably very… capable.
The only downside?
Thirty years of pure self-restraint.
Which might mean… a learning curve.
But overall?
Worth it.
Her eyes shone with determination.
She stood, climbed onto the bed, and leaned in close.
Xiao Yunmu, however, became even stiffer.
She tested the waters a bit, watching his reaction carefully.
He clearly wasn’t indifferent — far from it — but something about him felt like he was fighting himself.
Why?
He’d looked feral five minutes ago.
Now he looked like he was holding himself together with sheer willpower.
What, suddenly a saint?
She tried flirting harder, clumsily and determinedly.
He didn’t push her away immediately, but he didn’t lose control either.
It felt like he was letting things happen… but also quietly controlling the situation.
When she softly called him,
“Big brother…”
It was like a switch flipped.
He pulled back.
“Stop,” he said hoarsely.
She blinked.
“Stop what?”
His eyes were clear again. Too clear. Too calm.
Cold, almost.
She leaned forward again, instinctively trying to keep him from going into “lecture mode,” but he raised one hand to gently block her.
They stared at each other.
“…Were you joking?” she asked, forcing a smile.
He looked like he’d fought a war inside his own mind.
And lost.
“This… isn’t right,” he said quietly.
Her face went blank.
“Then what were you doing earlier?”
He reached out and lightly patted her head, his voice dropping:
“You see me as your brother. I should see you as my sister. That’s all we should ever be.”
She stared at him.
Her brain refused to cooperate.
He stood and walked to the door.
Before leaving, he paused.
Turned back.
Said softly:
“Don’t worry. I won’t abandon you. Let’s just pretend today never happened.”
And then he left.
Ming Ming sat there, completely stunned.
Her chest felt tight.
Not heartbreak.
Not anger.
Humiliation.
A very new kind of humiliation.
She flopped backward onto the bed and stared at the ceiling.
So that’s how it feels.
Not being rejected.
But being… undone.
“…He really said ‘forget it ever happened.’”
Unbelievable.
If he were even a slightly public figure, she would’ve trended him.
#XiaoYunmuIsFakeCool
And she’d have paid to keep it trending for days.
Two months passed.
Xiao Yunmu acted like nothing had ever happened.
More disciplined.
More distant.
More… proper.
A perfect older brother.
Ming Ming slowly came to two possible conclusions:
Either he genuinely couldn’t cross that mental line…
Or
He’d really just had a moment of madness.
Either way — she was done.
A real heartbreaker doesn’t get stuck on one fish.
A real heartbreaker builds a whole ocean.
She decided:
Fine. If he won’t choose me, I’ll move on first.
She met someone new.
A part-time worker at a bar.
Originally, she hadn’t gone to the bar looking for staff — she’d been looking for fun. Maybe someone young, carefree, dramatic.
Instead, she found him crying quietly in a corner.
She’d thought it was because of rude customers.
Turns out…
He’d just finished college entrance exams and thought he’d completely failed.
And — annoyingly — he cried beautifully.
