Chapter 11 – The CEO’s Little Rookie

◎High Society, Low Morals◎

Early the next morning, Ming Ming was yanked out of bed. She was still half-asleep until she found herself standing in front of a massive cruise ship.

Ming Ming blinked. “Who am I? Where am I?”

A waiter handed her a stack of glossy brochures. The ship was practically a floating city—five full decks dedicated to dining and entertainment, countless restaurants, bars, shopping arcades… even a swimming pool.

A swimming pool. On a ship. As if there wasn’t enough water already.

“Damn you, decadent upper class…” she muttered.

Fifth Master Huo gave her leave: “I’ve got business. Go amuse yourself.”

One more second of hesitation would make her seem ungrateful, so Ming Ming bolted like a kid let loose in a candy store. Huo Xiao frowned at her disappearing figure and gave Chen Si a look.

Chen Si quietly ordered a few men to tail her from a distance.

This was the He family’s private cruise. They were one of the most famous and powerful families in S City. The head of the family, He Wenhao, was past fifty and increasingly fond of playing the big shot. This “networking cruise” was, on the surface, meant to foster social ties, but in reality, it was just an excuse to throw money around and show off.

Fifth Master Huo was notorious for avoiding these kinds of events. But after unexpectedly showing up at the Hong family’s banquet last time, the Hes took their shot and sent him an invite—he accepted.

Naturally, the place was crawling with people eager to cozy up to him.

Word had it Fifth Master had brought a woman this time. Yet all day long, nobody had seen a single female by his side.

Everyone knew he wasn’t into women, but rumors don’t start for no reason. Some were already plotting ways to use this chance to send a woman his way. Still, after seeing what happened to the last person who tried, no one wanted to be the first.

He Wenhao was different. Leaning on his seniority, he fancied himself the big brother in front of Huo Xiao. At the Hong banquet, he thought he’d figured out what Huo Xiao wanted, so this time he decided to “deliver” a gift himself.

“Huo, my boy! What an honor to have you here!” He Wenhao boomed, spreading his arms for a hug.

Huo Xiao subtly stepped aside, politely shaking hands instead.

“You’re being modest, Mr. He. If this cruise ship counts as ‘humble,’ then all the skyscrapers in S City should be reclassified as slums.”

Fifth Master’s understated joke made He Wenhao beam.

He beckoned to someone behind him and pushed a young woman toward Huo Xiao. “Listen, my boy, you’re a young and capable man—you can’t live on vegetables forever. Take a look at this girl—familiar? I went out of my way to bring her here for you.”

He leaned closer, voice not exactly quiet: “Sometimes you gotta eat a little meat, eh?”

Fifth Master gave the girl a glance. His face didn’t change, but he didn’t refuse either. He Wenhao took that as a win, grinning with a “men understand each other” look.

“Well, I’ve delivered my gift. I’ll leave you to it, haha…”

Pleased with himself, He Wenhao strolled off—the night was young, and so was his nightlife.

The girl stood stiffly in place, trying to appear calm, but her clenched hands and rigid posture betrayed her nerves.

Fifth Master sat lazily on the sofa, absently fiddling with a thumb ring.

“What’s your name?”

“Ye… Ye Weiran…”

Meanwhile, Ming Ming was blissfully unaware of all this. She was like a country bumpkin touring a grand estate—everything was fascinating, and by the end of the day, she was nearly giddy with excitement.

She was about to take a break when she turned a corner into a billiards room, where a group of good-looking guys and girls were playing pool. She decided to join the fun.

“Hey, beautiful, want to play? You know how?” someone called when they noticed her watching for a while.

“Never tried. Let me give it a shot.”

She took the cue offered to her, rubbed some chalk on the tip, and studied the table for a moment—it didn’t look too hard.

She posed at the table, looking rather professional.

“Wow, look at that form—she’s a pro,” someone teased.

Crack!

Ming Ming lined up her shot, the white cue ball hit the black ball dead-on, and—straight into the pocket.

Ha! I’m amazing!

Fireworks went off in her head—turns out she had talent. But just as she was basking in her glory, the group burst into snickers.

A stunning woman in a skimpy outfit draped an arm over her shoulder, laughing so hard she nearly doubled over. “Nice shot, babe. But now I believe you’ve never played before.”

“The black ball has to be the last one in. You just ended the game before it started.”

Ming Ming: “…”

Her blank stare only made everyone laugh harder.

A few girls her age took pity and explained the rules. The hot girl checked her makeup, then a man casually asked Ming Ming, “So, you here alone or with someone?”

Before she could answer, another guy cut in, “How do you know she’s not some rich sugar mommy?”

Ming Ming frantically waved her hands—heaven forbid anyone think she was rich.

The first guy shot a knowing glance at someone else. Ming Ming had no clue what their little code meant. The hot girl, makeup now flawless, looked her up and down.

“Wow, sis, you went all out. Is that outfit the real deal or a knockoff?”

“Uh?”

“Doesn’t matter. Whether you came alone or with someone, we’re all heading to Deck B3 soon. Come with us—it’s about that time.”

“What time? Is there a banquet?” Ming Ming was completely lost.

Everyone around her was fixing their hair and clothes, exchanging winks.

“Of course—it’s the banquet we’re all here for.”

“Bring the good stuff to share, gorgeous.”

“Uh?”

Pushed along by the crowd, Ming Ming followed them to Deck B3—only to realize this was not that kind of banquet.

This was a damn orgy.

Exactly as He Wenhao had planned.

In his words, “A luxury cruise has to have some… down-to-earth entertainment.”

The group she came with scattered instantly—some straight to their benefactors, others drifting around to fish for anyone who might take interest.

It was easy to tell the rich from the “appetizers.”

The successful ones tended to be older; even if they weren’t fit, they carried a certain air of power. The younger rich kids radiated lawless energy. All of them shared one thing—the freedom to choose and discard young bodies at will.

Power puts some above everyone else. Correspondingly, it grinds others into the dirt to be toyed with.

Here was a paradise for stripping away humanity and shredding self-respect.

In minutes, people had already transformed into ravenous beasts, brazenly indulging in the fearlessness that money and status bring.

It was a grand feast of flesh.

She overheard men casually swapping female partners mid-conversation. Women on their knees forced smiles of pleasure, like they were trying to convince themselves to enjoy it.

Ming Ming felt like she couldn’t breathe.

She panicked and called out to her system: “System? System?”

No response.

Why had Huo Xiao brought her here?

What was he planning?

Her blood turned to ice.

Was he going to trade her away too?

Author’s Note:

Author, sobbing: “Family, who gets it? There’s nothing in this chapter at all…”

Ming Ming, charging in: “FAMILY WHO KNOWS! This author spent all night editing my next chapter’s happy times, and this morning she finds THIS chapter got locked! And she acts all—innocent!!”

Author: “This chapter isn’t even about you two…”

Ming Ming: “Do you realize what you just made my eyes witness? I’m gonna get a stye!”

She sat down, took the water the guilty author handed her, and muttered, still shaken: “Scared me half to death.”

Then the author noticed a magical button.

!!

Pressed it, covered it, pretended nothing happened, and slipped away.

Ming Ming looked left, looked right, then lifted the cover—

“…Turns out some dummy forgot to turn on pre-review. Ha!”
