The man was still waiting for her answer. Feng Guang forced a smile. “So… you’re my husband?”

“Over a hundred years???” She immediately touched her face, relieved to find no wrinkles, before letting out a breath of relief.

“I, uh…” She gave him an awkward smile. “What if I said I lost my memory? Would you believe me?”

Given the circumstances, it seemed like the only excuse she had.

“Amnesia?” He paused for a beat. “Feng Guang… you don’t remember me at all?”

“I don’t think so…”

Her answer drew a soft sigh from him. His handsome brows seemed dusted with snow, adding a touch of loneliness. The hand on her cheek slid down to her neck. That was when Feng Guang noticed the bandages wrapped there—and the faint sting beneath them. Only then did she realize she was injured.

His gaze darkened, his voice softening with a note of regret. “That day… I never should have agreed to let you go alone to eliminate the rebel demons of Arid Mountain. If I hadn’t, you wouldn’t have been captured, and you wouldn’t have suffered such a grave wound…”

“Huh?” Her eyes went blank. Demons? Extermination missions? Clearly, this was another of those “unscientific” worlds.

“T-thanks…” she replied uncomfortably. His words about them being husband and wife still didn’t feel real to her.

She had once been a student at that very academy, meaning Su Fa had once been her teacher.
