TSFLIP Chapter 630

Feng Guang and Yun Ji obediently sat down on the sofa. She glanced around the room—there were photos of Zhao Yi and Tang Xiaole on the walls and the table. She picked up one from the coffee table. The girl in the picture was smiling sweetly, radiating happiness. Feng Guang suddenly sighed.

“Life is such a fragile thing. Who would’ve thought that someone so full of joy one moment… could become a cold corpse the next?”

“That’s why, throughout history, there’s never been a shortage of people chasing immortality and spiritual ascension,” Yun Ji replied.

She shot him a look. “I’m reflecting on the impermanence of life—who said anything about cultivating immortality?”

“Isn’t it the same at its core?” he said with a shrug.

“Right… I should say, your acting’s not bad. That sorrowful expression earlier almost had me fooled.”

Yun Ji responded modestly, “My acting’s nothing special. Just something I picked up from my time in the drama club.”

Noticing Zhao Yi about to come out of the kitchen, she silently mouthed: Shameless.

He mouthed right back: Flattered.

Feng Guang was nearly infuriated by how shameless he was.

Just then, Zhao Yi emerged from the kitchen holding two glasses of water. “Sorry, I’ve been busy with lab work lately and completely forgot to buy tea. I only have plain water to offer.”

“No problem.” Yun Ji quickly switched back into his sympathetic expression. “I heard you’ve hardly left the lab these past few days. Don’t push yourself too hard. I’m sure even in the afterlife, the president wouldn’t want to see you like this.”

“Thank you, senpai. I appreciate your concern. I know how to take care of myself—I won’t let myself fall apart.” Zhao Yi’s gaze dimmed. “Xiaole used to always remind me not to overwork myself. Now that she’s gone, there’s no one to keep me in check… But to make sure she can rest easy, I’ll be more disciplined.”

Feng Guang looked at the worn-out man before her and felt a deep wave of sympathy. People always said heartbroken men could evoke pity—but a man who had lost the love of his life… that kind of sorrow was even harder to bear.

She was just about to say something comforting when, out of the corner of her eye, she saw the curtain stir from a breeze. Her expression froze, and she instinctively shifted closer to Yun Ji, even reaching out to grab his hand, so tightly her nails dug into his palm.

Yun Ji gently patted the back of her head and said softly, “No need to be so sad, junior. You’ll just make Zhao Yi feel even worse.”

Zhao Yi was still trying to understand Feng Guang’s sudden reaction. Hearing Yun Ji’s words, he forced a small smile. “Yeah… we’ve got to be strong while we’re still alive.”

Feng Guang couldn’t care less whether Zhao Yi was strong or not! All she knew was—she wasn’t turning around. With her back to Zhao Yi, there was no need for her to fake anything. She mouthed silently to Yun Ji: What do we do?

Yun Ji blinked calmly and subtly gestured for her to stay cool. He’d seen it too—a female ghost in a white dress standing by the window curtain. And he understood why Feng Guang was so frightened—it wasn’t just any ghost.

It was a vengeful spirit.

And it wasn’t Tang Xiaole.

The ghost stood in the corner of the room, silently watching the three of them in the living room. Her face… or what was left of it, barely resembled a human face anymore. It was mangled, bloody, her features unrecognizable. Just looking at her was enough to send chills down your spine. Her gaze alone could make your body break into a cold sweat.

Feng Guang was terrified—and thoroughly disgusted.
