The sound of dripping water echoed through the darkness, making the atmosphere even more eerie. In the lightless sewer, the stench was overwhelming—but more than that, it was bone-chillingly cold.

Feng Guang slowly came to, groggy and disoriented. She instinctively tried to rub her aching neck, but quickly realized her hands were tied. The ropes weren’t tight, but the knots were cleverly done—no way she could slip free.

Cecil was sitting right beside her. With a flourish, he opened his hand, and a small glowing robot fluttered into the air on mechanical wings, casting a soft light around them. Acting like a perfect gentleman, he took Feng Guang’s hand and placed a kiss on the back of it.
“Please forgive my lack of manners. It’s unforgivable that such a beautiful lady should have to wake up like this. That was entirely my fault.”

Feng Guang gritted her teeth and swallowed her frustration. She pulled her hand back and cut straight to the point.
“Why did you kidnap me?”

“Why, to get out of here, of course.”

“And what good does kidnapping me do? It’s not like I can fly you out of this place.”

“You’re someone close to Xu Wang,” Cecil said with a flirtatious smile. “And you’re a female Omega.”

Calling her a woman was enough—why did he always have to throw in “Omega”?

“To be honest, I’m surprised.” Cecil lowered his head and breathed in the scent of her neck. “I can’t believe Xu Wang hasn’t marked such an irresistible lady.”

Cecil watched her scrunch her little face in pain, stubbornly refusing to make a sound. With a look of sympathy, he helped her up, then said coolly,
“Good thing you landed on the back. If you’d fallen forward… well, you’d probably be even flatter now.”

It took Feng Guang a moment to process what he meant. When she did, she snapped through gritted teeth,
“So what if my chest is small?! It’s not like I’ve been living off your rice!”

“I was talking about your nose,” Cecil replied innocently. “What did you think I meant?” His charming smile and innocent eyes were annoyingly well-acted.

Feng Guang’s face turned red, then green, then white, finally settling into an expressionless stare. She didn’t even bother responding.

Her silence didn’t discourage him; in fact, Cecil only seemed more amused. Like a curious child, he leaned in and asked,
“So why hasn’t Xu Wang marked you? He doesn’t strike me as the type to pass up a delicious treat.”

She turned her head away and ignored him.

But even without a conversation partner, Cecil was perfectly entertained.
“Don’t tell me… he’s not capable? Tsk tsk. He always liked whipping me with that damn riding crop—I figured he was the sadistic type. But maybe it’s just jealousy. He can’t perform, so he hates that I’m big and strong.”

As his comments grew stranger and more inappropriate, Feng Guang finally couldn’t hold back anymore.
“How did you even escape from your cell?”

Cecil smiled at her full of intrigue.
“Today’s July twenty-first.”

“…And?”

“That means I was supposed to escape this morning. But I failed. So this afternoon was Ye Mo’s turn.” His tone was light, but the implication was odd. Still, he didn’t seem to find anything unusual about it. Raising a brow playfully, he added,
“I should’ve been back in my cell by now… but when I heard there was a lovely and charming lady to meet, I slipped out during the chaos.”

“…Is escaping this prison really that easy?” Feng Guang muttered. “How is it that I’ve seen two people break out in a single day? And then there’s Xiao Xiao, who just walks around like he owns the place!”
