“Be careful… don’t get hurt.”
Xu Wang gave her a faint smile. “Alright.”
Then, in the blink of an eye, Feng Guang saw Xu Wang’s figure flash to where Ye Mo was standing. The air around them shimmered and warped as if disturbed by a powerful magnetic field, and in the next moment, both men vanished from sight.
She looked around in confusion. The guards didn’t seem alarmed at all. Dazed, she murmured,
“Where… did they go?”
A voice beside her answered,
“During a duel, to ensure fairness, both parties are transported into a separate space where no outsiders can interfere. Once a winner is decided, they’ll reappear.”
“Then Xu Wang…” she asked nervously.
“Don’t worry. The Warden never loses.”
“How can you be so sure…” Feng Guang turned her head, and her expression froze.
The man beside her had long golden hair that framed an impossibly handsome face, like a figure straight out of legend. He smiled at her, flawless and enchanting.
“Because whenever he duels Ye Mo… he’s never lost.”
“You—!” She only managed to say one word before a sharp pain struck the back of her neck, and everything went black.
Cecil caught her as she collapsed, cradling her gently in his arms.
“Charming lady,” he said softly, “please come with me.”
By the time the soldiers arrived with their guns, Cecil and Feng Guang had already vanished from the courtyard.
