Fengguang replied dryly, “If you’re that unhappy, I can go tell Yan Yu that you’re a woman.”

“No, no, no!” Nan Xiaoxiao quickly rubbed her arms. “I don’t want every guy staring at me like I’m a piece of meat. Gives me the creeps.”

When she and Fengguang first arrived in this world, they landed on a relatively wealthy planet. Their drop point had been in an empty alley. Nan Xiaoxiao had picked up the wristband, just because it looked cool, and put it on. But the moment they stepped into the streets, they noticed something was off: there were no women around. And the men… all of them were staring like starving wolves.

Or more accurately, staring at Fengguang.

The two of them had immediately bolted. Eventually, Nan Xiaoxiao ran straight into Yan Yu. Remembering the Alliance Treaty that required women to be protected at all costs, Yan Yu decided to bring Fengguang onto his ship. Naturally, Nan Xiaoxiao came along as a plus one.

Fengguang thought about how all the men were currently throwing themselves at her, but soon, they’d be all over Nan Xiaoxiao instead. And Nan Xiaoxiao would end up catching Yan Yu’s attention too. Just as Fengguang and Nan Xiaoxiao were chatting, the ship suddenly shook violently, sirens blaring throughout the halls. Standing by the window, Fengguang looked out and saw a swarm of strange creatures flying past. They had wings with a dragonfly-like texture, green segmented bodies, six limbs, and insectoid heads with long antennae. They looked like bugs, except far larger than any human.

These were the Zerg, humanity’s terrifying, highly destructive insectoid enemies.

Seeing wave after wave of these oversized bugs flying past the window, Fengguang couldn’t help but complain internally: Seriously? These things are just space locusts!

Moments later, the ship was forced to make an emergency landing on an undeveloped planet.

Fengguang and Nan Xiaoxiao exchanged a glance and stepped out of their room. Unsure of where to go, they were soon approached by the helpful young deputy officer.

Nan Xiaoxiao quickly asked, “What happened?”

“We picked up a distress signal from the Third Unit and came to this planet to help—but we didn’t expect the Zerg to be lying in wait. We’re heading into battle now,” the deputy said, then turned to Fengguang. “Miss Xia, please stay on the ship. It’s dangerous outside.”

Fengguang nodded. “Got it. Be careful out there.”

“Don’t worry! We’ve never lost a battle under the general’s command!” he said proudly, thumping his chest before running off to join the fight.

Nan Xiaoxiao scoffed, “Figures. Only worried about Fengguang. I might as well be invisible.”

Fengguang ignored her jealousy and began walking down the corridor in the opposite direction.

“Fengguang, where are you going?”

“I want to see if there’s a computer or something I can use to look up information.”

“Oh, I know!” Nan Xiaoxiao caught up. “There’s one in Yan Yu’s office—and I know the password!”

“Then hurry up, let’s go!”
