Nan Xiaoxiao led Fengguang into Yan Yu’s office. Since everyone else on the ship had gone out to fight the Zerg, the place was empty aside from the two of them.
Nan Xiaoxiao booted up the computer on Yan Yu’s desk. A floating password input box immediately projected into the air. She quickly typed in a string of numbers with practiced ease. “I saw the password by accident—Yan Yu, that smug bastard, has no idea. Fengguang, what are you looking for?”
Fengguang glanced at the high-tech holographic interface, amazed at how far technology had advanced. She quickly typed in a search: prison planet.
Moments later, animated visuals began floating before their eyes. In the vast expanse of the universe, there was a restricted zone, jointly guarded by forces from every empire in the Human Alliance. It was said to be the most heavily defended area in the galaxy. And within it was just a single, barren planet, with one solitary structure.
A prison.
The largest and most dangerous prison in the universe.
Ordinary criminals—murderers, arsonists—weren’t even qualified to be locked up there. Only the worst of the worst were held inside: notorious pirate leaders, illegal arms dealers, and… the terrorist who once wiped out all life on an entire planet.
Fengguang stared blankly at the data for a while. Holy hell, she thought. How the hell is someone like me supposed to get close to a place like that? Frustrated, she raked a hand through her hair and began searching for possible routes to the prison planet.
The system responded: Access denied—Alliance-level classified information.
Nan Xiaoxiao frowned. “Why are you looking up such a terrifying place?”
“Heard the deputy mention it once. Just curious,” Fengguang said, closing the computer. Her acting was so half-hearted, even she thought it sounded fake.
But somehow, Nan Xiaoxiao believed her. “Oh, I see. Hey, Fengguang, wanna sneak out and take a peek?”
Fengguang gave her a look. “Didn’t you hear them say it’s dangerous out there?”
“It’s fine! Let’s just go to the ship’s entrance and peek out the window. Aren’t you curious how people in the future fight?”
“Not really.”
“I heard Yan Yu has the strongest mental power in the entire empire! Don’t you wanna know if they fight with their minds or something? C’mon, Fengguang, aren’t you the least bit curious?”
Mental power?
Fengguang suddenly thought of Ye Mo—he had mental abilities, too. She didn’t understand what mental power meant, but maybe learning about it could help her understand Ye Mo a bit more.
“Fine. Let’s take a quick look.”
On the battlefield, humans piloting massive mechs were locked in brutal combat with equally massive Zerg. The flashes of energy weapons lit up the night sky, making the planet look alive with chaos.
Nan Xiaoxiao pointed to a sleek white mech. “Look, that one has to be Yan Yu!”
His subordinates were his biggest fanboys—they often said their general was the legendary “White God of War.”
Fengguang’s expression didn’t change. “Looks like a Gundam battle to me. What’s that got to do with mental power?”
“You don’t get it,” Nan Xiaoxiao said, looking at her with disdain. “Mechs are controlled with mental power. The stronger your mind, the more power your mech can unleash. If you don’t have mental abilities, you can’t even pilot one.”
thank you for the updates!
