The production of Ancient City Dreams seemed plagued with setbacks. Every time filming began, something would inevitably go wrong. With no progress to show for their efforts, even Qiu Liang, a staunch atheist, was beginning to lose his composure. Both Feng Guang and Yu Shu had other commitments, adding to the growing urgency.
Liu Han once again strongly urged Qiu Liang to consider changing the filming location. With Liu Han preoccupied, Feng Guang seized the chance to sneak out unnoticed. She put on a hat and sunglasses, covering much of her beautiful face. Satisfied with her reflection in the mirror, she nodded to herself.
“Why is Feng Guang dressed like this?”
A melodious voice suddenly sounded from behind her, startling her. She turned to see An Yi. With a sigh of relief, she removed her sunglasses and scolded, “An Yi, could you not sneak up behind me and speak so suddenly? You scared me.”
“Sorry…” An Yi hesitated, wanting to hug her, but her slightly reproachful tone made him pause.
His cautious demeanor tugged at her heart.
Feng Guang sighed deeply, realizing she had no defense against this gentle ghost. She walked over and embraced him, resting her head against his chest. As expected, she couldn’t hear a heartbeat.
An Yi froze for a moment at her unexpected gesture. Then, his dark, clear eyes lit up with a warm glow. Wrapping one arm around her waist, he gently stroked her back with the other. Lowering his head, he pressed it lightly against hers, inhaling the unique scent of her hair with quiet joy.
Even without words, their embrace lingered, filled with an unspoken tenderness.
Feng Guang was suddenly impressed with herself. Despite her lingering fear of ghosts, she had willingly hugged one today—and not just any ghost, but An Yi. Surprisingly, instead of fear, she felt a strange sweetness. The answer became clear: she was afraid of ghosts, but not of him.
After a long silence, just as she was about to drift off in his arms, a thought struck her. She tilted her head up to ask him something, but he was already gazing down at her. Their faces were so close that their lips were mere inches apart.
He didn’t blink, watching her intently, as though waiting for her response.
His eyes reflected her image as if she were his entire world. Feeling a rush of heat, Feng Guang rose on her tiptoes and kissed him.
An Yi’s body trembled slightly in surprise, but he quickly responded. His lips moved softly against hers, and his tongue gently traced her lips before slipping inside, seeking hers. He deepened the kiss, exploring and savoring every corner of her mouth, stealing every breath she had to give.
Feng Guang hadn’t expected him to be such an adept kisser. Regret welled up as she realized her impulsiveness had left her body weak, her resistance fading, while An Yi showed no signs of stopping.
Regaining a shred of composure, she pressed her hands against his wandering one and pushed against his chest. Her voice came out in broken gasps. “An Yi… stop. Stop now.”
His eyes gleamed with a seductive light, their usual gentleness tinged with a hint of alluring intensity. He seemed genuinely confused. Why would she call it off after being the one to initiate?
Feng Guang couldn’t help but wonder what kind of man she had entangled herself with. He was intoxicating, dangerously so, with a pull that felt impossible to resist.
And if she couldn’t resist… then perhaps she shouldn’t.
She grabbed his hand, leading him to the bed. With a sudden push, she sent him sprawling onto it. Straddling his waist, she leaned forward, her lips brushing against his ear as she whispered, “An Yi, why don’t we take this a step further?”
That escalated quickly
