The next morning, Feng Guang woke up to find no man lying next to her. For a moment, she thought everything that happened last night was just a dream. But she quickly dismissed that idea.
Lying in bed, reluctant to get up, she pulled the covers over her head and lazily asked, “System-kun, are you sure I’m supposed to be the one pursuing this man, and not the other way around?”
The system didn’t respond.
Clicking her tongue in annoyance, she muttered about how the system was getting more and more aloof. After rolling around in bed for a while, she suddenly remembered the man in black. Her mood immediately sank to rock bottom.
An Yi was a ghost—this much she was sure of. If the man in black didn’t show up on the security footage either, didn’t that mean… he was also a ghost?
And if he was a ghost too, and he had said he would take her away… could that mean he intended to drag her to hell?
The thought jolted Feng Guang upright in bed. She didn’t even bother fixing her messy hair. Fear gripped her, making her entire body tense. As a public figure, her personality in this world was much more restrained than in previous ones. She hardly offended anyone—let alone a ghost!
Then, she thought of Liu Han.
Dressed in her pajamas, Feng Guang rushed out of her room and knocked on the door of the one next to hers. Liu Han was an even heavier sleeper than Feng Guang, so when she opened the door, she still looked half-asleep.
“What’s the emergency so early in the morning?” Liu Han yawned.
“Hanhan-jie, didn’t you go to the temple and get some protective charms? Did you bring one back for me?”
“Oh… those. They’re on the nightstand by my bed.”
Before Liu Han could finish her sentence, Feng Guang dashed into her room. Sure enough, two protective charms were sitting on the nightstand. Feng Guang grabbed one, exhaled in relief, waved a quick goodbye, and left without another word. Liu Han stood there, baffled by her whirlwind behavior.
Since ghosts existed in this world, Feng Guang reasoned that divine protections like these must also be real. She decided to carry the charm with her at all times. She didn’t want to see that terrifying man in black again.
With all the equipment finally repaired, the film crew was able to resume their work. Just as Feng Guang finished changing into her costume, a commotion broke out near the men’s changing room. A sudden fire had broken out, burning all of Yu Shu’s costumes to ashes.
According to the stylist, the fire appeared out of nowhere right in front of her. After the earlier incident with the smoking equipment, this new fire left many people on edge. However, Qiu Liang, a staunch atheist, insisted it was spontaneous combustion and could be explained scientifically.
Naturally, the ghost-fearing Liu Han got into another heated argument with him.
In the crowd, Feng Guang spotted Luo Chenxi, who looked visibly unsettled. She pulled Luo Chenxi aside, away from the others, and directly asked, “You can see ghosts, can’t you?”
“Miss Xia, how could I possibly—”
“Cut the pretense and just tell me.”
“…Yes.” Luo Chenxi reluctantly admitted it. This was the first time she had ever confessed her ability to see ghosts to someone else.
She only admitted it because Feng Guang also seemed to see ghosts. At least, it made her feel like she wasn’t alone—Feng Guang might be like her.
Unfortunately, Feng Guang didn’t see it that way. She asked, “Did you see something? Your reaction when you heard about the costumes burning was off.”
