HITA Chapter 6

BANG!

“How dare you—demon cult—hurt our sect elder?!” An angry voice sounded amidst the sound of footsteps. Shi Shuiyue took a glance, but she didn’t decrease her speed of escaping. 

Click—Her boots accidentally kicked a small stone, and it rolled down the bottomless cliff. Thus, Shi Shuiyue had no choice but to stop. 

“Hahaha—there’s nowhere to run now!” Seeing that Shi Shuiyue had nowhere to go, the members of the righteous clans who were chasing her with swords guffawed.  

Stupid earthlings. Shi Shuiyue’s face was expressionless—with her abilities, she had an above 90% survival rate even if she jumped down from here. She seriously had nothing to fear, alright?!

Just as Shi Shuiyue was pondering which landing position would look better, there was a sudden ‘swish’ sound. Shi Shuiyue instinctively turned sideways, but she was still pierced in the shoulder by the arrow shot by an unknown archer.

So the moment Shi Shuiyue fell off the cliff, she used all her remaining strength to turn her head to see which bastard dared to ambush her. 

She saw Ran Shu still holding the archer pose as she revealed a perfect ladylike smile towards everyone’s scrutinizing gaze. 

“As expected of the daughter of Jade Palace Sect’s leader, she is indeed very courageous ah!”  

“Although Miss Ran is a woman, she is smarter than men!”

“That’s right, that’s right…”

“Shi Shuiyue: “…” F*ck.

The sound of the wind whistling past her ears was somewhat uncomfortable, but before Shi Shuiyue had the time to think further, she suddenly stopped in midair. 

“Huh?” Shi Shuiyue blinked questioningly. Then she looked up and saw Tang Xing’s bottomless gaze.

Shi Shuiyue instinctively lowered her head, and then realized that something was wrong. Wasn’t she the one who was a member of an evil sect? How could she be scared by a mere human? Mhm…she shouldn’t be a coward…she had to stare back!

Then Shi Shuiyue looked back again.

Three seconds laters—

‘Damn it! The Jianghu is so scary—I want to return to the evil sect!’

Tang Xing looked at Shi Shuiyue, who was trying to reduce her sense of presence in his arms, and finally let out a helpless sigh. He let go of the tree trunk and stood on a crooked tree on the cliff with Shi Shuiyue in his arms. 

“Um…thanks.” Shi Shuiyue stood still and looked up at Tang Xing, “Why are you here?”

Tang Xing reached out his hand and tapped Shi Shuiyue’s forehead, while his other hand was still holding her waist. With a hint of complaint in his voice, he said, “If I came any later, you would have been in danger.” So shouldn’t you consider marrying me in return for saving you?

Shi Shuiyue tilted her head as she looked at him. It was uncertain what she was thinking about, but her gaze suddenly became somewhat strange.

“You…”

Tang Xing blinked and waited for her to continue.

“Mulan is the one managing all the affairs within the Hundred Poison Sect so there’s no point in you looking for me because I don’t know anything.” So you guys wouldn’t be able to get any information from me…mhm, even if he had saved her, she still didn’t know anything. Yes, she mustn’t give in to evil forces. Also, it was somewhat tiring to say such a long sentence without any punctuation. 

Why didn’t he ever notice that this girl had such a peculiar thought process? Tang Xing looked at her wary eyes and slightly puffed up cheeks, and couldn’t help but have the urge to reach out his hands.

“We can’t go up now, so why don’t we go down and take a look?” Tang Xing said, “They must still have people guarding up there.”

He was right. Shi Shuiyue thought about it and decided to trust him for now. Afterall, it wasn’t the finale yet. She wouldn’t die so soon…something didn’t seem right? Oh well, she couldn’t remember what was wrong.

But her movement accidentally pulled on the arrow wound on the back of her shoulder.

“Don’t move.” Tang Xing held Shi Shuiyue still and leaned over to look at her injury. He didn’t like the look of blood oozing out of her wound. 

Tang Xing frowned and said, “It’s inconvenient to bandage here. Let’s go down first.” After he said that, he directly jumped down with Shi Shuiyue in his arms.   

Jumped down.

Shi Shuiyue: “…” She was so scared that she couldn’t even scream.

As for Muqing and Mulan, who were back at the inn, they finally realized that their sect leader was missing.
