Fengguang fell silent for a long moment, troubled by the thought. But soon she remembered something even more important. She slumped weakly against him, looking pale and drained.

“Talking about hearts reminded me of a rule,” she said miserably, as if she hadn’t eaten in days. “Vampires aren’t allowed to be with hunters. If they are, the Elders’ Council will dig out the vampire’s heart and execute them, and the hunter will be taken away by the Association and imprisoned for life. Ming’an… what do we do? “I don’t know…” Fengguang frowned in frustration, but soon she smiled again. “It’s okay. As long as you survive, that’s enough. I’ll figure something out later. Besides, we vampires aren’t that easy to kill.”
His lashes trembled slightly, and a soft, shadowed warmth filled his eyes. With a turn, he pinned her beneath him again. He kissed her lips first, then brushed them lightly as he murmured, “I’m hungry.”
“Y-you just fed earlier, didn’t you?” she said, blushing, but she still loosened her collar and revealed her pale, graceful neck. “J-just be gentle…”
He chuckled, lowered his head, and licked lightly at her neck—but instead of biting there, he took her right hand and sank his fangs into her forearm.
The familiar rush of pleasure washed over her. As she drifted in the sensation he gave her, she hazily wondered why he’d chosen a different place to bite today.
Soon, he released her arm. Just as she thought it had ended too quickly, he leaned in again and bit her shoulder. “Today,” he murmured, “I want to savor every part of you.”
Her face flushed as she realized what he meant.
He intended to bite her from head to toe.
