Fengguang chuckled. “You said it was over a hundred years ago. Even if you wanted to see it, it’s far too late now. Besides, I can’t even imagine the things you’re describing.”
“Amnesia… really is such a troublesome thing,” Qingya sighed with feeling. “Not just for the princess—for Mister Su as well, I’m sure. I recall a time when I was still in the Heavens, when I once saw you and Mister Su walking together. The tenderness and affection between you two was enough to make anyone envious. Speaking of that, I recall I wasn’t too optimistic about that whole teacher–student romance…”

Fengguang shook herself out of her shameful thoughts. Before her lay a vast plain covered in blossoms and greenery. Across the flower-filled field, from the sky, descended a rain of roses.
She instinctively reached out. A rose petal landed in her palm. Just then, she heard the voice of a young girl in yellow not far away: “Su Fa, I love you! No one can change the fact that I love you!”
Fengguang’s eyes widened sharply. Before her appeared another scene—also at sunset, also beneath a sky filled with falling flowers.
The words being shouted were the same. But this time, the one speaking them wasn’t the girl in yellow—it was a woman dressed in a flowing red gown.
