TSFLIP Chapter 529

Feng Guang’s stubbornness gave Nan Xiaoxiao a headache. As much as she adored her friend, she couldn’t deny that sometimes Feng Guang could be unbelievably bullheaded—once she made up her mind, not even ten oxen could drag her back.

Nan Xiaoxiao was about to keep persuading her when Feng Guang suddenly let out a sigh.
“Xiaoxiao, do you think… they wouldn’t bug my room?”

Nan Xiaoxiao froze.

“I’m someone who has a connection to Xu Wang. You think Chen Yu and Yan Yu wouldn’t be monitoring my every move? They need to be sure Xu Wang didn’t leave any surprises with me.”

She suspected that even though Chen Yu had confidently declared that Xu Wang was dead, he couldn’t guarantee it with absolute certainty. He’d even said that Xu Wang’s genes were so powerful that not even an explosion could assure his death… But so what if it was an explosion? This was a man who had once destroyed an entire planet.

“Then everything I just said…” Nan Xiaoxiao looked at Feng Guang with pleading eyes, silently begging her to deny it.

But Feng Guang just answered matter-of-factly, “I’m guessing Yan Yu’s going to come get you soon.”

Yan Yu was the male lead. And male leads always had intense possessiveness toward the female lead. It wasn’t hard to imagine how over-the-top and domineering he’d be once he found out Nan Xiaoxiao planned to leave him and return to her world—like, for instance, right now.

The door burst open with a violent kick, and Yan Yu stormed in, his face dark. Without a word, he grabbed Nan Xiaoxiao’s wrist and started dragging her out. Of course, Nan Xiaoxiao struggled and resisted, but looking at Feng Guang was useless—Feng Guang couldn’t save her.

After Nan Xiaoxiao was taken away, the room was silent, with only Feng Guang left. She sat quietly by the bed for a while, then suddenly said aloud to the empty room:

“Chen Yu, you’re going to die.”

It wasn’t a curse. It sounded more like a simple statement of fact.

In another room, Chen Yu watched the surveillance footage and smiled faintly, unconcerned. He raised a wine glass, its deep red color not unlike blood, and let out a soft sigh.

People all die in the end. Does it matter if it’s sooner or later?

Feng Guang spent the next three days under soft house arrest in Chen Yu’s estate. Everyone treated her politely, mainly because she was a woman, but that didn’t mean they’d let her leave. On the fourth day, Chen Yu decided to take her back to the imperial capital. A woman’s appearance in this world was a major event for the Imperial Alliance—or more accurately, Feng Guang was to be handed over to the state.

This time, both Chen Yu and Yan Yu would travel back to the capital together. Naturally, the spaceship was heavily guarded. Nan Xiaoxiao had been hoping to find a chance to escape with Feng Guang, but honestly, she could barely manage her situation, let alone anyone else’s. And once they boarded the ship, there was nowhere left to run.

“Feng Guang… I don’t want to like him anymore.” Nan Xiaoxiao sat in Feng Guang’s room, her voice downcast.

Feng Guang already knew who she meant, but still asked, “Why?”

“Yan Yu is awful. And he’s so controlling. Yes, he likes me and he treats me well, but I can’t get over the fact that he locked me up.” Nan Xiaoxiao hugged her knees on the bed, her beautiful eyes filled with sadness and disappointment. “Feng Guang, you know the kind of man I want—he wouldn’t lie to me or force me to do things I don’t want to do. We’d be honest with each other, and we’d respect one another. Honestly… I do like Yan Yu. But between him and my freedom… I still love my freedom more.”
