Feeling exposed, Fengguang grew uneasy. Her gaze darted around everywhere except at him. “I’m not planning to do anything weird, so why are you telling me all this?”

His silence made her feel even more guilty, like she’d been caught red-handed.
They soon reached the cafeteria. As soon as they walked in, Fengguang ran into Liu Xun and Yang Hui.
Yang Hui was a mature, capable beauty. Standing in front of her, Fengguang felt like an inexperienced little girl. Yang Hui walked over with a smile. “Well, if it isn’t Miss Xia. Oh? Is this handsome doctor your friend?”

“Yes, he does!” Fengguang suddenly wrapped her arm around Qi Wei’s and narrowed her eyes at Yang Hui. “I’m his girlfriend.”
Qi Wei’s lips curved into a faint, helpless smile. He neither confirmed nor denied it.
“Miss Xia, this is your first time on Diamond Island, isn’t it?” Yang Hui asked with a smile. “Don’t tell me you already knew Dr. Qi before this?”
“Nope. We just met today—but it was love at first sight.”
Yang Hui covered her mouth in mock surprise. “Love at first sight? How romantic.”
“Young people…” Liu Xun chuckled.
“Hey, we’re not that old, you know,” Yang Hui shot him a sideways glance before turning back to Qi Wei with a flawless smile. “Dr. Qi, if you ever lose interest in Miss Xia, feel free to come find me. A change of taste every now and then can be quite refreshing.”
Fengguang gritted her teeth. “In your dreams! Qi Wei only has eyes for me!”
The cafeteria suddenly fell silent.
She froze, then slowly looked around, only to realize that the doctors and nurses nearby were all staring at her. Only then did she notice how loud she’d been. Covering her mouth, she shuffled behind Qi Wei in small, embarrassed steps.
Yang Hui burst into laughter, her voice so pleasant it could make a man’s bones melt. “Miss Xia really is her mother’s daughter. Back when I was pursuing your father, your mother declared her claim over him with just this kind of boldness.”
“What?” Fengguang peeked out from behind Qi Wei. “My mom actually liked my dad?”
In her memory, her mother had always seemed utterly fed up with her father.
“If she didn’t, who could’ve forced the eldest daughter of the Wang family to marry?” Yang Hui said with a flirtatious smile. “When I heard the Xia couple didn’t get along, I even went to see your father. But before I could even step into his office, I was kicked out. He’s really cold and ruthless.”
