He’s finally here!

The newcomer looked at Bei Yutang, unsurprised by her calm expression. 

“Want to know what happened to those two outside?”

Bei Yutang stared at him.

She wanted to reply, but her mouth was gagged, preventing her from speaking.

“I’m sorry, I forgot you can’t speak.” He said in a low, menacing voice.

He stepped forward and ripped the tape off her mouth.

Bei Yutang coughed lightly, slowly uttering words from her dry throat, “Give me…give me a glass of water.”

Her throat was unbearably dry.

A person can go ten days or half a month without food and not die, but if they don’t drink water for three days, they will definitely collapse and die.

Bei Yutang finished speaking and just looked at him, her meaning clear: if you want to hear what I have to say, give me water first; otherwise, forget it. 

The man watched her with interest. He couldn’t detect a trace of worry or fear on her face; she seemed so calm and natural, as if facing an old friend.

The man handed her the cup. 

Bei Yutang didn’t gulp it down despite her extreme thirst; instead, she sipped slowly, allowing her throat to adjust.

It took her more than twice as long to finish that cup of water.

“Another cup, please.” She said.

After drinking a cup of water, her throat finally felt much better, no longer dry and painful.

He said nothing and poured her another cup.

After she finished it, he asked, “Would you like more?”

Bei Yutang shook her head: “No, thank you.”

Although her body and heart longed for more, Bei Yutang knew that this amount was just right; any more would only burden her body.

“Alright, now we can have a proper chat.” 

He smiled at her, as if they were discussing pleasant topics, unaware that one was discussing how to kill her in front of the victim, while the other was calmly listening in front of the person who would kill her.

“Actually, I admire you somewhat, and I don’t really want to kill you.” 

There was a hint of regret in his tone. 

“Unfortunately, you must die. But don’t worry, I will let you choose how you die. Are you moved?”

Bei Yutang looked at him coldly: “Can I ask you a question? It’s something I still can’t understand.”

“What is it?”

He was curious that there was something she couldn’t fathom.

“From that poem, it’s clear that you harbor hatred toward us. I want to know, what have we done to offend you so much that you hate us so much that you’ve set up such a huge scheme to kill us all?”

After confirming his identity, Bei Yutang had questioned Dr. Zhang and Yan Jin separately to see if they knew him, but they said that they had never seen him before; he was a complete stranger.

“You want to know?” He smiled at her.

“Yes, I want to know. Feng Qing.” Bei Yutang pronounced his name, word by word.
