Bei Yutang stood up: “I’m going upstairs to change my clothes.”
“Go ahead.”
Bei Yutang went upstairs, while the three people downstairs continued their conversation.
After going upstairs, she didn’t return to her room but went to Ke Hongyu’s room. This time, she searched carefully around the body and found white powder in the cracks along the bed.
Next, Bei Yutang went to Old Mr. Huang and Gongsun Mingyue’s room, where she again found fine powder in hidden places.
These substances were scattered in inconspicuous places and easily overlooked without careful searching.
As soon as she stepped out of Gongsun Mingyue’s room, a person stood before her.
Bei Yutang’s pupils involuntarily contracted when she saw him.
The person smiled at Bei Yutang, but she felt no warmth whatsoever; instead, a chilling aura emanated from him.
“I didn’t expect you to find out.” The person’s low voice echoed eerily in the silent corridor.
The moment he spoke, Bei Yutang struck first, but her opponent seemed to have anticipated it, easily dodging her attack and swiftly counterattacking.
The instant he attacked, Bei Yutang knew the difference in skill between them was vast.
She was no match for him.
She was at best a mediocre martial artist who had only practiced for a few days. Although she knew how to move, her body was too weak; many aspects of her abilities and her explosive power were completely insufficient to unleash the full force of her martial arts attacks.
Her opponent, however, was a true master. After only three moves, Bei Yutang was easily subdued.
She tried to scream, but her opponent, anticipating her cries, silenced her a split second before she could utter a sound.
A single palm strike knocked her unconscious.
The entire fight lasted only two breaths—far too fast for Bei Yutang to even attempt a comeback.
Before she fainted, she knew that her chances of survival were slim.
Just before plunging into complete darkness, she heard a cold laugh escape the man’s lips.
When Bei Yutang awoke, she found herself surrounded by absolute darkness, unable to see her hand in front of her face.
Her hands and feet were bound, and her mouth was taped shut with black tape, preventing her from making a sound.
Where was she?
How much time had passed?
What was happening outside?
After her eyes adjusted to the darkness, Bei Yutang found herself in a sealed chamber. The chamber had no windows and no light.
Time ticked by, and the only sound in the sealed stone chamber was the beating of her own heart.
In such a confined and quiet space, an ordinary person would probably have panicked long ago. However, having experienced countless strange and wondrous dimensions and faced countless tortures, confinement was nothing to her.
Bei Yutang didn’t know how much time had passed outside, but she knew at most two days. Two days later, that person would definitely appear.
When that person appeared, it would probably be her death.
That day, the tightly closed stone door slowly opened, and a beam of intense light shone into the secret chamber.
Bei Yutang, who hadn’t seen light for days, immediately closed her eyes, squinting as she watched the figure walking in the light. The figure was tall and slender. He walked toward her with elegant steps.
With a ‘click’, the light on the ceiling of the secret chamber switched on, instantly illuminating the entire chamber as if it were daytime.
After Bei Yutang’s eyes adjusted to the bright light, she looked up at the person who had entered.
