[QTC] MBDT Chapter 1821

“How long have they been gone?” Feng Qing was getting impatient.

Bei Yutang glanced at the time and calculated in her mind: “It’s been four and a half hours.”

Feng Qing stood up: “Don’t wait anymore, I’m starving. Let’s eat first.”

“Let’s wait a little longer.”

Feng Qing had no choice but to continue waiting, and during this wait, Bei Yutang grew increasingly uneasy.

“I feel something’s wrong.” Bei Yutang said gravely.

“Let’s go look for them.”

Feng Qing frowned, somewhat reluctant: “Don’t worry unnecessarily. They might be back soon.”

Bei Yutang shook her head: “No. If they were coming back, they would be here by now. It’s already dark; they wouldn’t be unaware of what they’re facing tonight. Something must have happened that prevented them from returning.”

“Come on, let’s go find them.” Bei Yutang said, standing up and taking a knife from the kitchen, handing one to Feng Qing.

Feng Qing took it without hesitation: “What a hassle.”

Although he said this, he still followed Bei Yutang toward the East Hall.

The East Hall and West Hall were quite far apart, and it took them a full ten minutes to walk there. When they reached the East Hall, the long, dimly lit corridor was completely dark. The wall lamps in the corridor were instantly switched on as they appeared.

The sudden bright light made them instinctively close their eyes. They opened them only after their eyes adjusted to the bright light.

Bei Yutang stared blankly at the wall lamps.

Feng Qing noticed her unusual expression and asked, “What’s wrong?”

“Nothing.” She said, her expression tense.

“Let’s go. I wonder where those three went.” Feng Qing muttered discontentedly.

The two of them walked side by side, and when they reached a certain point, they found one of the doors ajar.

Feng Qing pushed open the door, shining his flashlight into the room.

Bei Yutang found the switch, and the entire room was instantly illuminated.

The two of them looked around the room. This room wasn’t a guest room or a master bedroom, but an art studio. Inside were plaster sculptures, all full-body sculptures, unlike those in typical art academies.

Bei Yutang’s gaze swept over the sculptures, her brow furrowing slightly.

“Strange.” She murmured.

“What’s strange?” Feng Qing looked around, but couldn’t see anything amiss in the studio.

“Don’t you think there’s something wrong with these sculptures?” Bei Yutang asked.

Hearing her words, Feng Qing carefully scanned the paintings again. Each landscape painting was beautiful and exquisite; even he, someone who knew little about art, thought that they were excellent.

However, he couldn’t see anything strange about them.

“What’s wrong? I don’t see anything.” Feng Qing admitted.

Bei Yutang pointed to the portraits on one side: “Look at these paintings, they’re all oil paintings, and these sculptures are in the same style as these paintings. And look over here, they’re all landscape paintings. These are two completely different styles.”

“What’s so strange about that? The person who painted these used to like oil paintings, but then they didn’t like them anymore, so they switched to landscapes.” Feng Qing said dismissively.

Bei Yutang didn’t think so, because once an artist chooses a style, they generally won’t change it later.
