In the southern orchards of E69 Planting Star, there are extensive groves of orange trees. These oranges are a specially improved variety, developed over several generations through selective breeding and hybridization. They have a tougher peel and a rich, aromatic flavor. As soon as you peel one open, you’re guaranteed to enjoy sweet and succulent fruit flesh with a delightful, flavorful juice.

Dad1T/N: Ryan’s dad, Qin Yi, used a knife to cut open an orange about the size of a small soccer ball. I forgot to mention, the improved fruit trees can grow up to twenty meters tall during the fruiting season. When viewed from a distance, one tree appears like a forest. The southern orchard boasts more than a hundred of these trees, covering an area of over two hundred acres. This goes to show just how impressive these enlarged, improved orange trees can be.

With a swift motion, the knife struck, and there was a crisp sound. Dad left only a two-millimeter deep mark on the surface of the orange.

“The only drawback is that the skin is a bit thick, but it’s absolutely delicious inside,” Dad didn’t feel embarrassed about this at all. He swiftly brought up this selling point when promoting, “The thick skin makes it durable and suitable for long-distance transportation. We’ve tested it; the fruits can be kept at room temperature for three months and twenty days without spoiling. Even after opening, it still has a rich and sweet juice.”

“Mr. Smith, it’s not just a bit thick,” the buyer recommended by Uncle Ryan was not very tall, but he had a solid build. His face, surrounded by layers of flesh, made his eyes seem completely engulfed by the fat. However, he wasn’t the typical type of overweight person. He probably had to run around to procure items for supermarkets. The buyer had a dark complexion, with a greasy sheen, which made his small cluster of beard on his chin, about the width of a finger, not stand out so much. “You chopped down with so much force and the orange is only slightly damaged, how will the customers eat them? I think it’s better to pass. Let’s go and check something else out. I’m very interested in your family’s glutinous rice.”

“Mr. Riggs2T/N: The Chinese name Li Ge pronounced the same as English name Riggs, please don’t be hasty in your judgment. After tasting it, you will change your mind,” Dad looked into the grove, but he couldn’t spot his son. So he could only shout, “Ryan, Ryan.” After calling twice, he turned to Mr. Riggs and said, “My son is amazing, stronger than me. After opening it, taste the juice inside; it’s incredibly delicious, beyond your imagination.”

Riggs raised an eyebrow at the exaggerated statement. He stepped into the shade of the trees, where the strong sun of the southern orchard made him sweat profusely.

Ryan’s voice came from the distance in the grove, “Dad, what’s up?”

“Come over and peel an orange,” Dad shouted.

“Oh, got it,” Ryan’s voice approached, “I’ll be right there.”

“My son serves in the military; he’s much tougher than me,” Dad spoke about Ryan, his words filled with pride. “He’s a soldier in the Golden Crusade Legion. He comes home on leave whenever he can. Kids grow up, and there’s nothing adults can do about it. Sometimes I really wish they could stay by our side forever. But then, I think, they have to spread their wings eventually; they can’t be as useless as us, the older generation.”

“I know, I wanted my son to attend a university in this starfield, but he wouldn’t have it. He said he’s been here since he was a child and wants to go out and explore. So, he went all the way to the Motis starfield, the farthest from us. Now, he only comes home once a year, and it’s even hard to hug him.”

“You can meet on the Star Net, you know.”

“It’s not the same, it doesn’t feel the same way,” Riggs shook his head. He heard footsteps and looked over enviously. Two equally outstanding young men were walking briskly toward them. He sighed, saying, “It’s so nice to have your children by your side.”

The two young men approaching had different demeanors. One wore a smile that was warm and gentle, like the sun on a spring day, promising a comfortable interaction. The other’s smile was there, but faint, exuding an aura of authority as he moved, a person accustomed to giving orders. Despite his smile, he created a sense of distance for ordinary people. These two remarkable individuals walked side by side, their personalities contrasting sharply yet strangely complementing each other. There was no room for a third person in their midst.

“My son, my daughter-in-law,” Dad became even prouder, “They have a great relationship. Haha, my son is settled down now. As a father, I feel a lot more relieved. I’ll focus on farming in the future, leaving more properties for my children. Come on, Ryan, peel the orange.”

Riggs, the buyer, felt a slight pang of jealousy. He realized that the son of the small farm owner from Little planting star was more outstanding than he had imagined. He felt like he was being overshadowed by him, but no, he refused to admit it!

Ryan walked over to his dad. With one hand, he caught the large orange, which must have weighed more than four pounds. With the other hand, he took the knife his dad handed him. “Dad, I’ve told you before, there’s a technique for peeling this orange. You can’t use brute force; you have to be delicate and start from the side of the stem.”

“I made the cut there; you see, there’s a mark,” Dad watched as Ryan wielded the knife and quickly cautioned, “Be careful with your hand.”

“Yes, I’m being careful.”

As the words fell, the crisp sound of the thick peel being opened echoed. Ryan had successfully peeled the orange. He made a circular cut along the incision, removed a ring of peel, revealing the juicy flesh inside. The fragrant juice inevitably flowed down from the cut, dripping onto Ryan’s hand and then falling onto the ground.

“Awuu awuu.”

The cry of a little beast startled the buyer, who quickly looked down to see a snow-white lion with long wings, about the size of a cat, tilting its head and opening its mouth, waiting for the juice to drip into its mouth.

“Mr. Riggs, look at this flesh, isn’t it wonderful? Smell the aroma, doesn’t it make you crave it?” Dad seized the opportunity to promote his oranges.

Riggs, the buyer, nodded in a somewhat subdued manner. Frustrated that his son was overshadowed by Ryan, he felt a bit displeased. In his private thoughts, he was already reluctant to purchase the oranges, no matter how delicious they were.

Ryan took the spoon that Auston handed him and stirred inside the opened orange. Unlike the old varieties, there were no membranes inside the big orange. The flesh could be easily mashed and juice could be extracted with a tool. He poured the juice into a glass prepared on the side. The orange juice gradually filled the glass, looking incredibly tempting just from its color. The juice that didn’t pour out, along with the peels, Ryan placed on the ground for Da Fu to lick and eat.

Da Fu wagged its tail, excitedly sticking out its pink tongue, making happy sounds as it licked.

Ryan: “Mr. Riggs, please have a taste.”

Riggs responded apathetically, “Hmm, alright.” He wouldn’t be swayed into making a purchase, even if this orange could fetch a sky-high price!

He took a sip, then another, unable to resist taking yet another… after being under the sun for so long, a glass of cool fruit juice was the best consolation. It relieved the dryness in his mouth, calmed the restlessness in his heart. From body to soul, it screamed satisfaction. The aroma of the orange rolled on his tongue, as if he had swallowed an entire orchard. Riggs found it hard to articulate his refusal now. If they wanted to try a ton, well, it might as well roll onto his taste buds. As for the earlier statement about not purchasing, as a profit-driven businessman, he couldn’t quite recall saying that…

“Dad, how many of these oranges do we have in the orchard?” Auston asked, sipping the orange juice Ryan had handed him. His eyes narrowed slightly as a quick idea took shape in his mind. While picking oranges in the orchard earlier, they didn’t have any convenient tools at hand. They were only now getting to taste the flavor of these large oranges. He also poured a glass for Ryan, wondering if the juice would be even more fragrant after being poured by his hands.

Dad didn’t understand why he was asking this, but he answered without any hesitation, “The genetically optimized orange trees have a very long fruiting period. One tree can yield seventy to eighty thousand kilograms of fruit in a single season. This estimate was made a couple of years ago when the trees hadn’t fully matured. Now that they’re in full fruiting season, it should be even more. As for the exact number of oranges in the orchard, I can’t tell you at once, but it’s definitely not a small quantity.”

Auston said, “Dad, don’t sell the oranges.”

“Why!?” The one questioning loudly was the buyer, Riggs. He realized he had already been captivated by the oranges.

Auston smiled and said, “I’m buying all of them.”

Riggs was astonished, “What?!”

Dad was puzzled, “What?”

Auston said to his father, “I need a large quantity of fruits on my side to supplement vitamins. The big oranges, which have a long shelf life and rich juice, are an excellent choice, and they taste great too. Dad, rest assured, I’m not driven by personal interests. Someone will come to discuss this business, and everything will be done openly. I’m just making a recommendation. The big oranges are excellent, and Dad doesn’t need to worry about being left with excess stock in the end.”

Dad, thinking of his child’s well-being, said with some doubts, “E69 is too remote.”

The distance from Gamma Military Base on the edge of the Red Coral required crossing nearly four starfield, making the transportation cost prohibitively high. It certainly wouldn’t be the military’s first choice for procurement. Of course, if they could establish a supply line with the military, it would be a huge boon for E69 and for Ryan’s family.

“Dad, you don’t have to worry. In terms of transportation costs, it won’t be too high,” Auston reassured. Using fully AI-operated transport ships would increase the frequency and speed of jumps. What appears to be a very long distance can be compressed into the shortest possible transport time. Auston believed this business could be done.

Buyer Riggs became more anxious, making an effort to persuade, “The headquarters of the supermarket I work for is in Newnes, with branches all over the Stormwind field. Compared to transporting the oranges to that… whatever place, it’s better to sell them to me. I can rebate the reduced transportation costs back to you, Mr. Smith!” He smelled an opportunity here. His sixth sense, honed by years of experience, told him this deal was not to be missed. He looked eagerly at the middleman he had brought with him, silently signaling him to help with the negotiation.

“Duncan, according to the rules, we were here first, so we should get a share of these oranges.” The middleman was a friend of Ryan’s uncle. With this connection, he was biased towards Ryan’s family. “We are offering a 2% increase on the original purchase price. We have already made significant concessions and cannot go any higher. What do you think?”

It’s impossible to guarantee the whole deal, but obtaining a portion is entirely feasible. Putting all the eggs in one basket was not wise. The middleman believed that Duncan Smith would make the right choice.

Upon hearing the middleman raising the price without consultation, Mr. Riggs, the buyer, felt a twinge of annoyance. They had initially discussed a 3% markup, so the 2% increase was still acceptable. Considering the excellent taste of the big oranges, he knew that with the right approach, he could secure more discounts. His facial muscles twitched slightly, indicating his acceptance of the 2% price increase.

Upon hearing the way the middleman was referring to his father, Auston furrowed his brows slightly, feeling puzzled, but he didn’t ask immediately. Instead, he planned to inquire about it with Ryan later.

After negotiations, they agreed to sell twenty trees’ worth of oranges to Buyer Riggs. All the fruits produced by these entire trees would go to him. This was a considerable quantity. Although Riggs preferred exclusive rights, he knew that was not feasible.

As they were about to sign the contract, Riggs suddenly had a realization. Could it be that this family was collaborating to deceive him?… However, as he looked at the orange juice, now even more delicious with the added ice, he gritted his teeth and signed.

Dad had successfully negotiated a deal and wanted to celebrate, but he found himself surrounded by his employees only. His wife had gone to the rice fields, his son and daughter-in-law had gone to pick up friends, so he had to savor the joy of success alone, pouring and drinking the juice himself.

A message came from the E69 space station; there were visitors looking for Ryan and Auston. Ryan knew immediately that it was the fanatical fan of his cousin Connor, Fan Lanting. He wondered how this devoted fan would react upon meeting his idol—would he scream loudly? Shout incessantly? Or would he faint from excitement? Ryan shook his head. He had never chased stars; it was always others chasing him. So, he truly didn’t understand the mindset of fans. He had seen some fanatical individuals attempting self-immolation in front of the Grand Presidential Palace just to see Qin Feng Anderson. Although they were stopped in time, it caused a huge sensation in society, and it became one of the points where Qin Feng was criticized by contemporaries and later generations—cultivating personal worship and manipulating people’s hearts.

During the flight, Auston raised his question, “Isn’t Dad’s name Qin Yi, so why did the middleman just now call him Duncan?”

“Dad’s registered name bound to his personal terminal is Duncan Smith; Qin Yi is what family members call him,” Ryan explained openly about the family situation. He didn’t intend to hide anything but didn’t know how to bring it up, so he hadn’t mentioned it until Auston raised the question. “Our ancestral surname is Qin, following the traditional customs of the Han people. My great-grandfather married a woman from whom the children took the wife’s surname. My grandfather, after marrying a European grandmother, had my dad, who took the surname Smith. Our family has had different surnames for the past three generations. The Qin family was the maternal family of Emperor Anderson.”

Ryan paused, not looking at Auston’s expression. He continued, “Do you still remember the diary we saw in the Emperor’s Museum? The one from his military days. The Emperor and others discovered the Stormwind field and he really liked a small planet similar to Earth’s environment. He planned to retire there and farm. That small planet is E69, and the Emperor named it ‘Fengge’ – sharp like a blade, the Feng in Qin Feng.

When he realized he had become the descendant of his cousin Qin Hao, Ryan was very confused. If Qin Hao knew about this, he would surely laugh heartily, but unfortunately, people of the same generation as Emperor Anderson had already passed away. For Qin Feng, who had become Ryan, seeking revenge, finding the truth, and fulfilling vendettas had lost their appeal.

Auston widened his eyes slightly; he never dreamed that Ryan’s family had such a history. “And now, Fengge?”

“It’s inconspicuous now, turned into a homonym.”

Auston nodded, trying to digest this information.

“Three years after the Emperor’s death, Qin Hao left the capital star and disappeared without a trace, hiding in Fengge. He concealed his identity, burying all his past, just trying to live in obscurity, hoping one day to clear his name,” Ryan said, his eyes deepening. He didn’t explain why Qin Hao had left the center of power; it was recorded in history. Qin Hao had been charged with treason, and his whole family vanished before his sentencing, and their whereabouts remained a mystery. Clear his name? Huh, Qin Hao never saw that day come. Instead, he witnessed countless accusations being heaped upon himself. The cheerful young man who always seemed happy must have been deeply frustrated. But Ryan couldn’t see it; he couldn’t console him.

Auston was politically astute and quickly sensed something unusual. History was like a little girl dressed up by others, a narrative written by the victors. And the Dalton family, as one of the current six major families of the Empire, was among the victors. Could it be that his ancestors did something…

Auston felt a bit lost, suddenly feeling that he owed Ryan. If the Qin family had retained its glory, with Ryan’s abilities, he could have shone brightly, becoming a rising star that everyone admired. “I…”

Ryan extended his arm and pulled Auston into his embrace. “You don’t need to bear the sins of our ancestors. We should look forward. Besides, don’t you believe in your own ancestors? The family that raised you must be good people.” Based on his knowledge of the Dalton family, the Dalton he knew was upright and honest, someone who would never harm an ally. He was certain that the events from seven hundred years ago had nothing to do with him.

Seeing Auston’s expression, Ryan chuckled. “You silly, you don’t owe me at all. It’s completely unnecessary. We enjoy our current life, cherish everything we have now. What’s the point of fame and fortune when we can be together as a family, happy and united.”

“Right,” Auston held onto Ryan and silently made a decision. There were hidden secrets behind the events from seven hundred years ago (evident from traces left behind by the Qin family and the subtle clues Auston had recalled about his own ancestors). He wanted to seek the truth and uncover the reality of what happened seven hundred years ago. He felt guilty for doubting his great-great-grandfather and suspecting him of doing something against ethics and conscience. He chided himself for such thoughts.

Arriving next to the Sea of Love, Ryan and Auston disembarked from their aircraft. After a few steps, they reached their doorstep and saw their cousin Connor, who was supposed to be engrossed in writing and researching. Connor stretched lazily and said to the approaching pair, “I’ve granted them access. The docking port on the other side is guiding them in, and the aircraft is also ready for them. They’ll be here soon.”

The security measures on E69 Planting Star had been adjusted by Ryan. Many anti-aircraft guns were buried in different directions on the ground, and numerous small satellites floated in the air, equipped with laser attack systems. Anyone who dared to intrude on the Planting Star would understand why the roses had thorns.

“Them?” Ryan got some information from Connor’s words.

Connor nodded and said, “Two groups came at different times. The first group was looking for you, and the second group was looking for Auston. Probably your friends. Of course…” Connor winked, saying proudly, “They might also be my little fans.”

The first person to arrive was indeed Fan Lanting. He wasn’t wearing a military uniform but instead a very formal black suit. His hair was meticulously combed back, revealing a full forehead and bright eyes. It was evident that Fan Lanting had taken great care in his appearance, although he might have overdone it a bit, resembling a salesman carrying a suitcase while going out to promote products.

Connor raised an intrigued eyebrow when he saw the composed and reserved fan, realizing that the reality didn’t quite match his expectations. As the group approached, he extended his hand. “Hello, I’m Connor Smith, the author of the ongoing series ‘The Song of Beacon.'”

Fan Lanting, with a passionate gaze that lingered on Connor’s face for a moment, eventually shifted his attention to the outstretched hand. He was so engrossed in looking that he momentarily forgot he should shake hands. Connor waited for three or four seconds, his hand awkwardly suspended in mid-air. Just as he was about to withdraw it, a warm and dry hand finally came up. Fan Lanting’s hand was small enough that Connor could completely envelop it within his palm.

“I’m Fan Lanting Francis, a scout from the Golden Crusade Legion. It’s a pleasure to meet you, Connor,” he said, pronouncing the last name with genuine emotion.

Fan Lanting stood at a height just around six feet, slightly shorter than Connor’s six-feet-six frame. He had a delicate appearance, not the most handsome, but his bright eyes and the gentle curve of his features made him exceptionally cheerful. He seemed like someone who came from a genuinely happy family, a contented youth…

Fan Lanting’s eyes couldn’t accommodate anyone else; after all, he couldn’t see Ryan, And who was Auston? He vaguely recalled that Auston was their general. His mind became a muddled mess. Fan Lanting restrained himself from screaming; he didn’t want to frighten Connor. He should be a rational fan, someone sensible and not emotionally unstable. Connor had mentioned that he hoped his fans would pursue their enthusiasm sensibly. He also expressed his preference for fans who were stable and had profound insights.

After Fan Lanting finished his introduction, he remained silent, his lips pursed. He looked so serious that it seemed he might open a suitcase at any moment and present the company’s products to Connor ceremoniously. As the host, Connor felt the need to liven up the atmosphere; otherwise, the two of them standing there silently, holding hands, would be too awkward. “Welcome to E69, welcome to my home.”

Fan Lanting’s throat bobbed as he made a visible effort to swallow. He pressed his lips together, his expression serious, and replied, “Thank you. I am honored.”

Ryan, standing beside them, blinked at Auston, signaling him to take a look at the prolonged handshake between Connor and Fan Lanting. Didn’t they realize that the handshake had been going on for quite some time?

It had gone on for so long that Connor and Fan Lanting had engaged in two rounds of superficial conversation without much substance. The faint hum of a small aircraft cutting through the air gradually drew near, breaking the strange atmosphere between Connor and Fan Lanting. Their hands, which had been clasped together, finally separated.

Fan Lanting clenched his fist tightly, treasuring it in front of him. His voice became lower, sounding very steady, “May I ask where the restroom is?”

Connor replied, “Let me show you.”

“Thank you.”

Fan Lanting followed Connor into the house, his gaze never leaving Connor, completely ignoring Ryan and Auston, the two lively individuals present.

Ryan and Auston exchanged a glance but didn’t say anything because there was another new guest, specifically, Auston’s guest. The newcomer was General Tolkien Buck from the Honor Legion. Inspired by Emperor Qin Feng’s love for mahjong, he had also become an enthusiast and had developed several military theories based on the game. Ryan had briefly glanced at the cover of his book on the Star Net but wasn’t particularly interested in military theories derived from mahjong.

Contrary to their expectations, Tolkien Buck didn’t fit the rough, tough image of a mahjong-playing man with a cigarette hanging from his mouth. He exuded a refined and cultured air, reminiscent of a gentleman from the Republic of China period on ancient Earth. He wore deep brown trousers, a linen casual shirt, and gold-rimmed glasses. His jet-black hair and deep blue eyes exhibited clear Eurasian features, much like Ryan, showing their mixed heritage with Chinese blood.

Tolkien, now well into his 120s, commanded the Honor Legion’s military base on the edge of the Tempest Nebula. His influence extended throughout the nebula. Ryan later learned from Auston that Tolkien and Auston’s father were good friends, and he had always shown a lot of care for Auston. Tolkien was an amiable elder, and Auston had entrusted him with the task of finding mithril for Ryan’s ring. When he discovered that Auston was in the area, he came to pay a visit.

“Uncle Buck,” Auston greeted.

Tolkien smiled at Auston. “It’s been a while. You look much healthier than the last time I saw you.” His gaze shifted, landing on Ryan. His expression remained gentle, but there was a sharpness in his eyes as he assessed Ryan.

This kind of gaze was all too familiar to Ryan; after all, he was quite adept at giving similar looks himself = =

He didn’t flinch under Tolkien’s sharp scrutiny. Even if the Zerg emperor was around, Ryan wouldn’t change his expression. He smiled warmly, meeting General Tolkien’s gaze without a hint of hesitation.

Tolkien raised an eyebrow almost imperceptibly. This young man was extraordinary. Under his scrutiny, Ryan remained calm and composed, showing no signs of panic. He was either very naive or exceptionally clever. Clearly, the young man who could be with Auston was no fool. Tolkien found himself intrigued. How could an ordinary soldier be this outstanding? With keen interest, he softened his gaze, transitioning from a sharp observer to a genuinely amiable elder.

Inviting the elder inside, as soon as Ryan stepped through the door, he heard a familiar “Aaahhh.”

Ryan: “…” Finally, he heard it. Fan Lanting didn’t scream just now. He had doubted for quite a while. Listening to this continuous, loud series of screams, Fan Lanting must have been desperate to let it out.

Connor stood in the middle of the living room, innocent, shrugging, “He’s been at it for quite some time.” He was starting to worry about Fan Lanting’s health. Yelling for so long, especially with poor lung capacity, could easily lead to insufficient oxygen supply to the brain and fainting.

Ryan: “He should be fine soon; he never screamed this long before.” He wasn’t entirely sure if Fan Lanting was about to finish; after all, he hadn’t seen the real person at that time. “You should probably tell him the soundproofing in the downstairs bathroom isn’t very good.”

Connor gave a slightly amused, half-smile. “I didn’t expect this. Is he… always this enthusiastic?”

“He’s usually fine. But when it comes to you, he gets a bit carried away.”

Connor nodded. “I see.” His gaze turned to the sophisticated middle-aged man. He recognized him from the news, so he nodded in greeting. “General Tolkien.”

General Tolkien was starting to wonder what kind of grand family he had walked into. Why were these young people, one calmer than the other, acting so composed? After all, he was the head of the Legion and an imperial general. Why was he feeling similar to an ordinary neighbor dropping by?

Deciding to leave the downstairs matter to the younger generation, Auston led General Tolkien to the study on the second floor. Just as they ascended, the screams from the bathroom ceased. After a while, Fan Lanting, slightly disheveled but composed, emerged. There was a hint of dampness in his eyelashes and hair tips, indicating he had washed his face with cold water, presumably to calm down his flushed face from all the shouting.

“Apologies for taking a bit of time in there,” Fan Lanting said, still maintaining his composed demeanor, as if he had transformed into a different person, now much calmer.

Connor raised an eyebrow. “No problem at all. Please, have a seat. I’ll go get some water. Plain water, coffee, or juice?”

“Thank you,” Fan Lanting nodded. “No need to bother, plain water will do.”

Ryan: “…” Why is Fan Lanting wearing gloves?

While Connor was away, Fan Lanting finally relaxed his stiff posture. He couldn’t help but stomp his foot and clenched his mouth tightly to suppress the scream.

“Don’t hold it in, your face is all red.”

Fan Lanting jumped, almost running into the bathroom to check his face. If his face was red, it wouldn’t align with his current persona. He had to appear stable and mature in front of Connor, becoming the intellectual man Connor liked. Heh heh.

“Ryan!” Fan Lanting was startled by the sudden appearance of Ryan. “When did you arrive?”

Ryan smiled, “You finally noticed me. I’ve been here all along.”

Fan Lanting scratched his head in embarrassment, “I was too excited to see Connor, why didn’t I see the General?”

“You did see him,” Ryan said cryptically.

“Ah?! When?” Fan Lanting asked.

“As soon as you arrived. But at that time, your eyes were too full to notice us,” Ryan said, spreading his hands in a helpless gesture. “We were splendidly ignored by you.”

Fan Lanting was shocked. He refused to accept it. “How is that possible? I couldn’t have ignored both you and the General.”

“But the fact remains, you managed to overlook both of us.”

Fan Lanting fell into contemplation. After a moment of silence, he said, “…Perhaps Connor’s charm is just too irresistible. He’s the first in my heart.”

Ryan deadpanned, “You’ve never seen him picking his toes. That might change your mind.”

“No, no, no,” Fan Lanting shook his head vigorously. “That won’t matter. I don’t care about Connor’s appearance; I care about our spiritual connection. I’ve read every one of his books, I understand his thoughts. Even if he picks his toes and tastes them afterward, I’d still adore him.”

Ryan sighed, “He actually did something that disgusting… Almost did.”

Fan Lanting frowned momentarily, a hint of disgust crossing his face. However, his adoration quickly overwhelmed it. “Well, then I’ll like it too. I can pick my toes and taste them.”

“Don’t, that’s too disgusting,” Ryan said, holding back his disgust. He was almost about to gag.

Fan Lanting jumped in excitement. With Connor not around, he could drop his façade and freely express his joy. “Haha, Ryan, do you know? Connor shook hands with me. I’m so happy! Haha, I’ve decided I won’t wash my hands anymore!” He brought his gloved hand, the one that had shaken hands with Connor, close to his nose, inhaling deeply. “I can feel Connor’s aura~~~”

In the kitchen, Connor squinted his eyes. Little brother, you’re tarnishing my image so much. I’ll make sure to expose your secrets to Auston, hmph.

He walked out, pretending he hadn’t noticed Fan Lanting’s little scheme, and began offering juice to the guests. Fresh orange juice was undoubtedly the best choice for entertaining guests, radiating the vitality and energy of a sunlit orchard.
