Luo Xi didn’t think of it that way. She remembered the female secretary. She was very beautiful, exuding confidence and femininity. Even she couldn’t help but take another look at her. The secretary always handled things efficiently and didn’t glance at Leng Minxing unnecessarily, leaving no room for criticism, which made Luo Xi a little envious.

But Luo Xi didn’t dwell on that matter. After finishing her meal, Leng Minxing told her to take a nap in the bedroom while he continued to work.

Luo Xi reminded him to wake her up and slipped off her shoes to climb into bed.

Luo Xi’s head was aching with anger because Leng Minxing hadn’t woken her. This was her first day on the job! Being this close and still being late by half an hour! How would the manager feel about that?

She yanked open the door, only to see the female secretary standing next to Leng Minxing, smiling and chatting with him.

Her sudden movement startled both of them, causing them to turn their heads towards her.

The secretary didn’t seem surprised to see her emerge from Leng Minxing’s lounge. Upon seeing she was awake, Leng Minxing raised a hand to signal the secretary to leave.

Su Da stepped back, smiling at Luo Xi as she left.

Luo Xi felt something was off but was quickly overcome by her anger. She glared at Leng Minxing. “You, why didn’t you wake me up?”

Leng Minxing paused, then glanced at the clock, finally remembering she needed to be at work by two o’clock. “I was busy working and lost track of time.”

Luo Xi felt dejected. She knew it wasn’t entirely his fault. Taking a deep breath, she grabbed her bag from the sofa and prepared to leave. “I’ll head to work now, you take a rest.”

It was lunchtime, and everyone else was napping while he had been busy and lost track of time. Although she was upset about being late, she also felt a bit sorry for him. She thought to herself that she should probably set an alarm next time.

Seeing her not-so-good expression, Leng Minxing felt a bit guilty. He knew she cared about such things, and he had inadvertently caused her trouble. Leng Minxing pinched her cheek affectionately. “I’ll walk you down.” Without waiting for her to refuse, he took her hand.

Once they reached the tenth floor, Luo Xi went on her own.

After Leng Minxing left, she hurried to the finance department.

Her mind was screaming, “Oh no! Oh no!”

On her first day of work, she hadn’t been late in the morning, but now she was over half an hour late in the afternoon. She had no idea how to face Manager Zhang and her many colleagues…
