Not wanting to hurt Fu Qingli’s feelings, Zheng Yue tried to comfort her: “Even though you didn’t get much out of marrying into a wealthy family, I think you’ve become more ambitious about your career. That’s a good thing. You’re beautiful, and your acting is great—if you put in the effort, you’ll make it big.”

Qingli smiled. The original character’s career drive hadn’t been strong, but it wasn’t weak either. She had been content with the status quo, just getting by.

But after the experience with the wealthy family, she had indeed changed. She wanted to shine, to become someone others wouldn’t dare underestimate.

So, she started to show her sharp edges.

The two of them, without saying anything, pushed aside thoughts of the recent divorce, and Ye Minmin, checked into a double room at the hotel, took a relaxing hot shower, and went to bed.

The next morning, still lying in bed, Qingli said, “Zheng Jie, help me find a lawyer who specializes in divorce.”

Zheng Yue paused in the middle of applying her facial mask: “A divorce lawyer? Are you really divorcing?”

“Really,” Qingli nodded.

“Okay, give me two days. I’ll find someone reliable.” Zheng Yue immediately nodded.

Though her influence wasn’t huge, after so many years in the industry, she had some connections, and she knew quite a few lawyers who specialized in divorce cases.

Qingli saw that she had agreed, then rubbed her face and got out of bed.

After two days of indulgence, it was time to start exercising again tomorrow.

Being an actor wasn’t something that could be done casually; maintaining a good physique was the most basic requirement.

It was a little past 10 a.m. when Qingli arrived at the original owner’s home with Ye Minxing. She hadn’t even entered the door yet when Ye Minmin blocked her.

The spoiled young lady put her hands on her hips and said in a sweet voice, “Hurry up and get in the car. I said I want you to go shopping with me, so you have to go!”

Qingli wasn’t angry, just smiled. “Are you sure?”

“Sure!” Ye Minmin frowned impatiently and said, “Hurry up!”

“Ah Li?” Zheng Yue reminded her. Wasn’t she supposed to be getting a divorce? Why bother dealing with this little princess?

Though Fu Qingli was relatively unknown, gossip accounts always had time to dig up her news, even when she was still obscure. After all, a beautiful actress marrying into a wealthy family was a topic that sparked a lot of discussions.

Previously, to deal with Ye Minmin, Fu Qingli had followed her around like a servant while shopping, and the gossip accounts had often snapped pictures.

Last week, she had been trending on social media for being criticized, and the gossip accounts immediately dug up old news, reigniting mockery and damaging her reputation.

Qingli shook her head at Zheng Yue, signaling for her to stop. She had just eaten, drunk, and gotten enough rest, so it was time to exercise. She handed her luggage to Zheng Yue and told her to wait for a bit, then directly got in the car.

Ye Minmin immediately shouted, “Star City! Hurry up!”

“Got it.” The driver responded, and the car started moving.

Star City was the largest luxury goods mall in the area, frequently visited by celebrities, making it also a hotspot for paparazzi.

They arrived quickly, and since it was still early, they could shop around before having lunch. Ye Minmin headed straight for a jewelry store, picked up a piece, and nodded without even blinking, “This one, wrap it up.”

“Of course, ma’am. Please wait a moment.” The sales assistant nodded enthusiastically and immediately went to get the packaging box.

Ye Minmin lazily waved her hand, “Just leave it to her, I’ll go to the next store.”

With that, she turned and walked away in her high heels with slow, languid steps.

But after just a couple of steps, the sales assistant called out to her. “Miss, who are you referring to?”

The sales assistant looked flustered. She had stayed up late watching Horror Escape the night before, and her mind was full of scary scenes. Seeing the woman alone, why did she say to leave it to her?

Where was this girl anyway?

Ye Minmin froze for a moment and turned around. Sure enough, aside from the other customers and the staff, there was no one else. Fu Qingli, who had come with her, had disappeared!

Her face changed slightly, and she quickly stepped outside to look around. She saw Fu Qingli trying on a bag in the store next door. She snapped angrily, “Fu Qingli! What are you doing?!”

Qingli turned and smiled at her, “Shopping. What? This isn’t how you shop?”

Seeing her smile only made Ye Minmin angrier. Her head was pounding as she scowled, “Shopping? I asked you to accompany me, not go off on your own! Go stay in this store. You’re carrying what I buy!”

“Crazy.” Qingli rolled her eyes. “I’m not your servant. Why would I carry your stuff?”

Ye Minmin: “???”

She stared at Qingli in disbelief, but Qingli ignored her. After picking out a suitable bag, she pulled out her card, paid for it, and walked toward the next store.

Ye Minmin was furious. “Clack, clack, clack!” Her footsteps echoed like nails on the ground as she stomped over to Qingli and gritted her teeth, threatening, “Do you believe I’ll call my brother right now and tell him you’re bullying me?”

“Call him!” Qingli raised an eyebrow, motioning for her to do so, then went back to looking at shoes.

The original owner had replaced most of her shoes with high heels to please the Ye family, but Qingli didn’t like them. Starting tomorrow, she planned to exercise, so she needed some sneakers.

Ye Minmin could tell Qingli wasn’t afraid and took out her phone, but when she saw Qingli going for shoes, she was so mad that she snatched them from her and threw them. “What are you trying on for? I asked you to shop with me, not for yourself!”

Qingli’s face darkened as she asked the stunned sales assistant, “Where’s the restroom?”

The assistant instinctively pointed to a spot not far away.

Qingli glanced at it, then grabbed the dazed Ye Minmin and dragged her in that direction.

“Let go!” Ye Minmin instinctively struggled, sensing something was wrong.

But Qingli gripped her wrist tightly, and despite her struggles, she couldn’t break free. She was dragged, stumbling, to the restroom.

There were still quite a few customers in the restroom, and when they saw the two of them coming in with their commotion, they curiously turned to look.

Qingli’s face was cold, and she didn’t say anything. She shoved Ye Minmin in front of the sink.

Ye Minmin began to panic and struggled even harder, even attempting to hit Qingli. But before she could, Qingli tightened her grip on her shoulder, and with a forceful push, Ye Minmin felt a sharp ache and numbness in her shoulder. Before she could react, splash—the sound of water filled the air, and the next moment, water splashed in her face.

“Ah! Gurgle…” Ye Minmin screamed, feeling the icy cold water splash all over her. When she opened her mouth to scream, a burst of water rushed into her mouth and nose, choking her.

Qingli gripped her neck, forcing her to stand up.

“Cough, cough, cough…” Ye Minmin coughed violently, her face contorted as she glared at Qingli and growled, “Fu Qingli, just wait! I’ll make sure you—”

Before she could finish her threat, she was shoved back into the sink.

This time, instead of facing the water, her entire face was dunked into the accumulated water, the suffocating coldness overwhelming her and leaving her unable to scream.

Qingli’s cold voice came: “Can you speak properly now?”

Ye Minmin: “!!!”
