TGLC Chapter 9.2

The atmosphere in the car suddenly dropped to freezing point.

Seeing that her parents seemed angry, Little Zhuzhu couldn’t help but pout and complain, “Mom and Dad, can you please talk properly? Our teacher said that quarreling is a very bad thing and will affect the harmony of the class. That’s why the children in our class are very well-behaved and rarely quarrel.”

“We kids all need to understand this. Why don’t you two understand it now that you’re so old?”

After a pause, she glanced at the two adults, who still had grim expressions, and said, “There’s a little girl named Zhang Xiaoxiao in the class next to us. Her parents often don’t talk to each other properly, so she’s very unhappy. She says she hates them.”

The child’s words stunned both of them.

Xie Qingyu’s tense expression quickly softened as she reassured her daughter, “Mom and Dad are not arguing.”

Zhuzhu: “But you look angry.”

Zhuzhu was very sensitive to emotions. 

She muttered, “I’m smart. I know you must be angry.”

“Don’t quarrel.”

The daughter’s voice softened. Duan Zihui’s expression gradually softened as he said softly, “Okay, Dad won’t quarrel.”

Zhuzhu: “You still have to apologize to Mom because you made her angry.”

“Apologize?” 

When Duan Zihui heard these two words, he felt that they were a bit far-fetched.

He has been the center of attention since he was young, and it has always been others who apologize to him. 

Now he is asked to apologize to Xie Qingyu?

Are you kidding?

He didn’t feel that he owed her an apology.

He didn’t say anything.

Seeing that her father didn’t seem to want to apologize, Zhuzhu curled her lips and said, “Dad, if you step on someone’s foot when you go out, will you apologize?”

Duan Zihui looked at the road and smiled: “I never step on other people’s feet.”

Zhuzhu felt that her father seemed a little difficult to take care of.

She said anxiously, “I’m just giving you an example.”

“If you accidentally step on someone, you have to apologize. If you make Mom angry, shouldn’t you also apologize?”

“You adults always say that children should correct their mistakes, but isn’t that the same for you? How can Mom know you’re sincere if you don’t apologize?”

Duan Zihui felt that Zhuzhu was protecting Xie Qingyu; after all, she was closer to Xie Qingyu.

But he was still stunned by Zhuzhu’s words.

After all, he had never apologized to Xie Qingyu before.

Even though he had felt sorry for her in the past.

Xie Qingyu always felt that Duan Zihui owed her an apology.

But it shouldn’t be such a trivial matter.

Their separation seemed to be caused by the accumulation of such small things.

She never expected an apology from him.

He is a rich and noble young master with a prominent family background. Everyone around him flatters him, and he doesn’t need to apologize to anyone.

Xie Qingyu knew that he wouldn’t say it.

She also didn’t want to make her relationship with Duan Zihui too awkward in front of the child. Firstly, it would be embarrassing, and secondly, it would have a bad influence on the child.

She fixed her eyes on Zhuzhu’s new airplane toy and began to say disdainfully, “Your airplane is so expensive, but I don’t see how it’s any different. It’s just a waste of money, designed to trick you rich kids.”
