Xie Qingyu fell asleep again.
Around eight o’clock, her father arrived.
When Little Zhuzhu saw her father, she was hugging a teddy bear and ran over to him, saying, “Daddy, Mommy is sleeping in the room.”
The little girl tilted her head back, looking at Duan Zihui with big eyes, looking adorable.
Duan Zihui was charmed by his adorable little girl. He reached out and pulled her into his arms, asking with a smile, “Mommy is sick. Are you bored playing by yourself?”
Zhuzhu shook her little head, fiddling with the ears of the teddy bear in her arms, and said, “I’m not bored at all, not at all! I have so many toys.”
Of course, there weren’t as many toys here as at home.
After saying that, she broke free from her father’s arms and ran to the sofa to continue kneading the clay.
Little Zhuzhu’s hands are white and a little chubby, making her look very cute.
Duan Zihui watched for a while and then went to the room to check on Xie Qingyu.
She was still asleep in the room, covered in sweat, with her back to him.
Seeing that she hadn’t noticed him coming in, Duan Zihui hesitated for a moment before walking over. After thinking for a moment, he reached out and touched her forehead.
It seemed to have gotten hot again. Duan Zihui quickly pushed her shoulder: “Xie Qingyu?”
Xie Qingyu was extremely sleepy, her voice muffled yet soft, “Baby, please don’t bother Mommy, okay? Mommy is so sleepy. Mommy wants to sleep a little longer.”
Duan Zihui’s hand suddenly left her shoulder.
He gazed intently at her frail figure for a moment, then turned and walked toward the door.
Just then, Zhuzhu walked in.
Duan Zihui said, “Mommy seems to have a fever again. I’ll go downstairs to buy a thermometer.”
Aunt Zhang hurriedly went to the drawer in the living room to get it: “I already bought it.”
It was meant as a precaution, but she hadn’t expected her to actually have a fever again.
Aunt Zhang couldn’t help but feel proud of her own thoughtfulness.
Duan Zihui took the thermometer and went inside to take Xie Qingyu’s temperature.
Aunt Zhang originally thought that she should be the one to do these things, but seeing Duan Zihui frowning and looking anxious to do it himself, she didn’t interfere much.
She simply waited nearby, watching to see if Duan Zihui needed anything.
A few minutes later, the temperature was taken: 38.5 degrees Celsius.
Duan Zihui called the doctor to come over.
The doctor came over, took her temperature, examined her, and gave her an injection.
Before leaving, the doctor instructed, “Keep an eye on her tonight. If the fever spikes again, call us.”
Little Zhuzhu was stunned, not expecting her mother to have recurring fevers. Hearing the doctor’s words, she nodded blankly, looking like a dazed goose.
Duan Zihui saw the doctor at the door. After seeing him off, Duan Zihui closed the door and went inside. He said to Zhuzhu, “Daddy won’t leave tonight. I’ll stay here and watch over you and Mommy.”
He didn’t look very happy at the moment; his brows were furrowed.
Although Aunt Zhang was there, she seemed more at ease with her father around.
The little girl nodded: “Okay, Dad, I’ll go tidy up your room.”
That’s what her mother usually said when guests stayed at their house.
Zhuzhu imitated her.
Duan Zihui suddenly smiled and said, “You guys don’t come back here much, so the rooms are all empty. What else do you want to clean up?”
Zhuzhu, reminded by her father, realized, “Oh, that seems to be true~”
She opened the door to the empty room next door and found that what her father had said was indeed true.
Duan Zihui laughed at her, saying, “Silly girl.”
Zhuzhu retorted, “Silly Daddy.”
Duan Zihui gently rubbed her little head and asked with a smile, “Where is Daddy silly?”
Zhuzhu: “I’m a silly girl, so aren’t you the silly girl’s dad? Then you’re a silly daddy.”
Duan Zihui thought about it and thought: Oh, this logic doesn’t seem too wrong.
