Mommy, Who Are You Calling 'Baby'? (2)

Dr. Luo is the Duan family’s doctor; the Duan family members usually come here when they are sick. He is familiar with Duan Zihui and also knows Xie Qingyu. He was busy with work earlier, but now that his assistant had gone to prepare, he had a moment to pay attention and noticed the little girl beside Duan Zihui.

The little one hadn’t even had time to change her clothes; she was still wearing her pajamas and looked incredibly cute.

It’s so small.

She looks like a glass doll.

Dr. Luo raised an eyebrow and asked Duan Zihui, “Your daughter?”

Duan Zihui’s gaze fell on Xie Qingyu, who was sleeping soundly in the hospital, her brows furrowed and looking very uncomfortable. He nodded and said, “Yes.”

“You little rascal, don’t your parents know?”

When he went to the Duan family to arrange a medical check-up for Duan Zihui’s mother, she was still smiling and saying that she and her son were willing to marry the Gu family’s daughter, and that she would have a chance to have a grandson or granddaughter.

He hadn’t expected her granddaughter to be so grown up now.

“I haven’t told them yet.”

Duan Zihui’s relationship with his family was so-so; he couldn’t even handle these things himself, let alone tell them. But he figured that they would find out as soon as he arrived here.

Duan Zihui pressed his brow in annoyance.

“You should talk to them. Even if your dad had a bad temper when he was young, he’s getting old now. His recent medical checkup results weren’t good; his blood pressure was a bit high.”

Duan Zihui didn’t take it seriously: “With such a bad temper, it’s no wonder his blood pressure is high.”

“Uncle Doctor, could you please let my mom get better first before you chat?”

Little Zhuzhu was puzzled and a little anxious when she saw the doctor chatting leisurely with her father.

The assistant came in at this moment and quickly gave Xie Qingyu an injection and started an IV drip.

Little Zhuzhu, who had been extremely anxious, finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Seeing the child’s anxious expression, Dr. Luo smiled and adjusted his glasses, saying, “Alright, little one, don’t worry, your mother’s fever will subside soon.”

Dr. Luo smiled and chatted with Duan Zihui for a few more minutes before going to attend to other matters.

Half an hour later, Xie Qingyu’s fever subsided, and she quickly regained consciousness.

When she opened her eyes, she saw Little Zhuzhu, still in her pajamas, looking at her with her big, dark eyes full of worry, and Duan Zihui standing to the side, head down, replying to a message on his phone.

Around her was a snow-white hospital room.

She still had an IV drip in her hand.

Xie Qingyu sat up.

Blood immediately gushed from her hand onto the thin tube. Zhuzhu’s expression changed drastically.

“Mommy!” The little girl cried out, her heart pounding with fear.

Duan Zihui walked straight over, grabbed her hand, and said in a cold voice, “Slow down.”

His strong fingers gripped the back and palm of her soft hand. Xie Qingyu felt a tingling sensation in her hand.

Her head, which was already foggy, was now even more confused.

If she weren’t afraid of the blood flowing back, she would have slapped his hand away.

Xie Qingyu’s face was a little pale. She said, “I’m fine now. You can let go of my hand.”

Duan Zihui withdrew his hand.

Xie Qingyu carefully lowered her hand, looked at Little Zhuzhu, pursed her pale lips, and asked Zhuzhu, “Baby, what’s wrong with Mommy?”

Zhuzhu was surprised that her mother didn’t know what was wrong with her.

“Mom, you’re sick!” She exclaimed.

“You have a really high fever, almost 40 degrees Celsius. If it had been any later, you would have become a big, stupid person.”

Little Zhuzhu had been sick quite often, so she knew how high her mother’s temperature was.

Xie Qingyu: “…”

Her throat was a little itchy, and she coughed a few times. After looking at her daughter for a while, she said, “I think you’re the one who looks like a little stupid person.”

“No, I’m not.” Zhuzhu retorted softly.
