The airport was very quiet at midnight, with only the occasional passerby and the sound of boarding announcements.

Zhuzhu followed beside her father, her big eyes wide as she looked around. Suddenly, she missed her mother a little.

She whispered her thoughts to her father, her voice barely audible: “Daddy, I miss Mommy a little.”

It was still early, so it wasn’t impossible to go back. Even if he missed his flight, it didn’t matter; he could just take the next one.

Duan Zihui pulled her along, looked at the child beside him, and said, “Then Daddy will take you home.”

Zhuzhu hesitated, shaking her little head, “Forget it, I’ll go see Chongchong first.”

Duan Zihui chuckled at her indecisiveness and reached out to pat the little girl’s head.

The air conditioning in the airport was a bit low. Just before leaving, Xie Qingyu stuffed a child’s jacket into his hand, fearing that she might be cold.

Duan Zihui asked Zhuzhu, “Are you cold? Do you want to put your jacket on?”

Little Zhuzhu didn’t feel cold at all. She shook her head and said, “It’s so hot now, I don’t feel cold at all. Dad, you take the jacket.”

The little one didn’t want to put on the jacket, and Duan Zihui couldn’t do anything about it. Seeing McDonald’s, KFC, and various soup and noodle shops around, he asked solicitously, “Are you hungry? Daddy will take you to get something to eat.”

Little Zhuzhu looked around and realized that she wasn’t hungry. She immediately shook her head and said, “I’m not hungry. I don’t want to eat.”

Duan Zihui took her to buy mineral water, checked in the luggage, and then took her to sit in the waiting room.

They hadn’t been sitting down long when the little girl lowered her head, stamping her feet on the ground, and sighed softly, “I wonder what Mommy is doing right now.”

She misses Mommy again so soon.

Duan Zihui glanced at the smartwatch on her wrist and said, “Why don’t you call Mom?”

Zhuzhu objected again and said seriously, “It’s Mom’s bedtime now. If I call her, she won’t be able to sleep.”

She didn’t know that her mother was wide awake, thinking about her.

Duan Zihui: I guess she might not be able to sleep tonight.

Then he heard the little girl mutter softly, “Besides, if I call Mom now, I won’t want to leave later.”

Duan Zihui chuckled. She was still worried about that, too.

What an adorably contradictory little girl.

Little Zhuzhu was sad for a while, then looked up at the big screen displaying numerous departure times.

She asked, somewhat puzzled, “Daddy, why is this plane so slow? I’ve been waiting so long, and it still hasn’t taken off.”

Duan Zihui glanced at his watch and said hesitantly, “It seems we’re a bit early. We’ll probably have to wait another forty minutes.”

Zhuzhu propped up her chin with one hand, leaning on the armrest of the chair. She also felt that her father came too early, but after thinking about it, she said, “Forget it. It’s better for us to come earlier than the plane. After all, the plane won’t wait for us before taking off.”

After saying that, the little girl sat quietly on the chair.

Someone was looking for him.

Duan Zihui lowered his head to reply to a message on his phone, occasionally looking up at her.

After he replied to the message, he found that she was leaning on the chair and sleeping quietly.

She looks incredibly cute while sleeping. Her lips are pouting, her cheeks are rosy, and her eyelashes look long and soft—she is absolutely beautiful. Her cheeks are as red as a little apple.

Duan Zihui draped his coat over her shoulders, then watched her sleeping face as he waited for boarding.
