“But Daddy already said that he would take me to the kindergarten gate. How could he not keep his promise?”

If he wasn’t going to take you there now, why was Duan Zihui’s car stuck here?

“Zhuzhu.” Xie Qingyu wanted to pull her away.

The next moment, the little girl burst into tears. Sniffling, she said, “If Daddy doesn’t take me to the kindergarten gate, the kids in my class won’t be able to see him, and then I won’t be able to tell them that I really have a father.”

“They laughed at me last time, and I want to stop them from laughing.”

Zhuzhu never told Xie Qingyu about this.

She always feels that single-parent families are not a big deal nowadays. After all, there are some children in Zhuzhu’s class whose parents are divorced. She provides her with a comfortable life and generous material conditions.

She had never imagined that Zhuzhu had been so eager for Duan Zihui’s return recently, and it was precisely because of this incident.

Xie Qingyu felt a bit complicated and compromised, “Then Mom will wait here until it’s less crowded, and then drive the car out. I’ll have Dad take you to the kindergarten gate.”

She held Zhuzhu’s hand and stood by the roadside, watching him drive slowly out of the crowded traffic.

The car window was half open. The man in the car had handsome features and a slight frown on his face. Although he looked impatient, he was still controlling the car patiently.

Xie Qingyu looked away, and when she looked at him again, she saw him coming toward her.

Zhuzhu ran over excitedly, took Duan Zihui’s hand, and smiled so much that she almost turned into a flower.

Xie Qingyu followed them and shook her head.

Zhuzhu, who was wearing a haze blue skirt and had her braids tied up on her head, was dressed like a little princess. As soon as she saw the teacher picking up the children at the kindergarten gate, she was praised.

“Zhuzhu looks so beautiful today. Did your mother comb your hair?”

Zhuzhu nodded. She was a little shy after being praised by the teacher. She took her father’s hand and introduced him to the teacher: “Teacher, this is my dad. My dear dad!”

The little girl’s eyes sparkled. She lifted her pretty face with a touch of pride as she introduced him to the teacher.

Teacher Zhang, who was wearing a white shirt, black pants, and glasses, and Teacher Mi, who was wearing a yellow skirt and light makeup, were looking at Duan Zihui in surprise.

Zhuzhu had been attending their kindergarten for almost a year. No matter if it was rainy, windy, or sunny, they had never seen Zhuzhu’s father. Zhuzhu’s family situation was also stated as a single-parent family.

They also knew that Zhuzhu was teased by the kids in her class some time ago, and they had tried to stop them.

Zhuzhu herself had told others before that she had never seen her father.

So the teachers never thought that one day they would see Zhuzhu’s father sending her to school.
