TVCEO Chapter 69.4

As they walked from the park gate toward the central square’s grand stage, everyone who passed by couldn’t help but turn around for another look.

It wasn’t that they were strange, but Su Zhengxing’s outfit was simply out of place.

He was wearing Lin Qiao’s clothes. Although the style was unisex and wouldn’t look strange on an average man, his personal style was too prominent. His overly handsome and aloof appearance made the cartoon-printed T-shirt he wore look particularly sloppy.

Lin Qiao spotted a shop selling men’s Hanfu in the park and quickly pushed him inside to choose a set.

At 187 cm tall, Su Zhengxing was far too tall for the store’s standard-size menswear. The shop owner rummaged through drawers for a while before finally finding a silver-black, narrow-sleeved, round-necked robe he’d kept hidden in the storeroom.

With the leather belt fastened, even without makeup or a sword, his cold and imposing face alone made him look like a ruthless bodyguard capable of taking down ten men with a single blow.

“This one will do.” Lin Qiao said to the shop owner.

“Just me? You’re not wearing it?” Su Zhengxing asked, unaccustomed to such clothing.

“Beautiful lady, why don’t you get one too? It’ll make a perfect pair. The park is having a promotion right now: two sets get 20% off, and we’ll even give you a free makeup and styling set!” The shop owner seized the opportunity to promote his product.

Lin Qiao had already dressed herself and didn’t want to go through the hassle, waving her hand and saying no.

Su Zhengxing grabbed her hand and looked at her with ill intent: “Yes.”

Lin Qiao felt wronged. She was clearly doing it for his own good, suggesting he change clothes because she didn’t want him to be laughed at. Why did his expression make it seem like she was deliberately trying to trick him into some strange play?

He’s really biting the hand that feeds him!

Lin Qiao, pouting, simply chose the most expensive orchid and flower goddess dress in the shop, spending a full hour doing her makeup and making him wait beside her.

Although he watched Lin Qiao finish her makeup bit by bit, when she turned around and looked at herself in the mirror, Su Zhengxing’s heart still fluttered uncontrollably.

Her smile was enchanting, her eyes sparkling.

Even the real flower goddess couldn’t be more beautiful than this.

“Does it look good?”

Lin Qiao looked at him with bright eyes, her eyes sparkling as she scanned the light green eyeshadow.

“The autumn orchids are so green, with green leaves and purple stems.”

“A hall full of beauties, yet suddenly my eyes met those of only one.”

Lin Qiao herself studied Chinese literature, so she immediately recognized that he was referring to the ‘Shao Siming’ chapter in Qu Yuan’s ‘Nine Songs’, a poem about orchids and Shao Siming, the goddess in charge of human offspring.

Her already lightly powdered cheeks flushed even redder. Lin Qiao, trying to hide her embarrassment, fanned herself and ran outside, saying, “Let’s go, let’s go, or we’ll be late for the celebration!”

Rushing to the central plaza of the park, Lin Qiao arrived just as the celebration was about to begin. The area around the circular central stage was already packed with people. Busy finding a good spot, Lin Qiao hadn’t paid any attention to Su Zhengxing and weaved through the crowd.

To maintain order and prevent stampedes, the park had deployed many staff members dressed in Jinyiwei uniforms. While peeking ahead to see if there was any space, Lin Qiao wasn’t paying attention and was pushed from behind, bumping her head on Jinyiwei’s back.
