This was no ordinary rabbit.
Xiao Yan set Su Su on the table, idly stroking her fur.
“Want the fish?”
Su Su’s ruby eyes sparkled. Yes!
“Give me your paw first.” Nothing came free in Xiao Yan’s world.
Su Su hopped forward, shoving her tiny paw into his hand. Squeeze it!
He obliged, playing with her pads a moment before releasing her. Plenty of time to pamper her later—but not on an empty stomach.
He fetched a small spoon and fed her flakes of fish, then a few mouthfuls of rice.
Full at last, Su Su pushed the spoon away.
Xiao Yan dabbed her muzzle with a tissue. “Full?”
Su Su’s reply: a soft, involuntary hiccup.
Xiao Yan chuckled. “Hiccups? Definitely full.”
After dinner, he carried her upstairs. “Bunny? Here.”
Su Su scampered into the bathroom, tilting her head. What now?
“Bath time.” Xiao Yan ran warm water. Following online guides, he masshed rabbit-safe shampoo into her back. Supposedly rabbits panic during baths… but this one?
Su Su’s eyes drifted shut in bliss. She patted his hand with a wet paw: Harder! I’m no delicate flower.
Xiao Yan paused. “You’re saying… you’re not ordinary? I don’t need to be gentle?”
Su Su nodded. Exactly.
Amused, he scrubbed her thoroughly. “We understand each other well.” Talking to a rabbit who understands… He shook off the absurdity. Unusual? Yes. But he’d known she was special from the start.
Ding! ‘Xiao Yan’s favorability +2. Current favorability: 10.’
After her bath and blow-dry, Su Su was placed on the big, soft bed.
“You can’t run around. Stay here obediently, understand?” Xiao Yan ordered before heading to the shower.
He believed Su Su would understand him perfectly.
And if she doesn’t… she’s pretending.
When he emerged from the shower, he found Su Su exactly where he’d left her, her beautiful crimson eyes fixed on the bathroom door.
Ah! The god vessel is back!
Su Su instantly cut off her mental chat with Tu Tu and gazed at Xiao Yan with obedient intensity.
Bedtime arrived… but Xiao Yan’s gaze drifted between her plush pink nest and the rabbit now nestled against his pillow. Letting go feels… wrong.
Finally, he settled her beside him. “Sleep here,” he declared, tucking the quilt around her before closing his eyes contentedly.
Su Su felt his hand rest possessively on her back as she peered at the gorgeous, unused nest across the room.
…But I wanted to try that beautiful nest.
