TFSRITA Chapter 99

But she didn’t know how to say it.

The system didn’t speak, instead mechanically asking: [Would you like to enter the next world?]

Yan Qing sighed: [Yes.]

The system responded: [Now entering the next mission and erasing memories…]

When Yan Qing opened her eyes, she was greeted by a wave of dizziness, pain coursing through her body, and a sense of confusion and loss in her heart, as if she had lost something very important.

As soon as she opened her eyes, she saw a hand the size of a large fan swinging towards her.

Instinctively, she ducked to avoid it. The owner of the hand, a man with a face full of fat, became even more grotesque as he missed, and he kicked at her angrily, shouting, “How dare you dodge? You’re getting more and more wicked!”

Yan Qing’s mind was blank. Sensing danger, she instinctively twisted her waist to dodge again, her movements surprisingly agile, leaving those around her in shock.

An older middle-aged woman exclaimed, “What’s wrong with this brat today?”

“Wow, she dares to resist?” Another woman with a harsh face pointed at her and started to come over to help.

Yan Qing realized the situation was dire. She glanced around and saw a crowd of onlookers—young and old, fat and thin—each wearing a hostile expression as they watched her. In a quick sweep, she noticed several eyes filled with disgust.

A slightly chubby boy met her gaze and immediately turned away in disdain.

“What are you looking at, you worthless piece of trash? Do you have the guts to shout at Young Master Chu?” The initial man, enraged that she had evaded his attacks multiple times, stormed over, rolling up his sleeves as if he were ready to hit her for real.

Yan Qing was pushed back by the duo, and seeing the mockery on the others’ faces, she realized none would come to her aid. Her shoulders, back, and head throbbed in pain, indicating she had already been beaten before.

“I’ll kill you!” the man bellowed, grabbing a nearby stool to smash over her.

Originally, he only intended to give her a beating, but now that this stubborn girl kept dodging, his fury intensified. He wasn’t a patient man, to begin with, and now he was completely enraged, prepared to go all out.

For some reason, Yan Qing found his actions familiar.

But with danger looming, she couldn’t afford to think too much. She sidestepped, dodging past him, and bolted toward the door.

With a loud crash, the man slammed the stool onto the ground, shaking the entire house.

The middle-aged woman who had intended to help was left in a daze, looking back at the group seated on the sofa, incredulously saying, “Did she run away?”

“She dares to run?”

A younger woman with heavy makeup waved her hand dismissively. “Where can she go? It’s pouring outside; she’ll probably come back in a while, and then we won’t let her in! Hahaha…”

“Right, don’t let her in!” A teenage girl beside her nodded, her face full of disdain for the girl they just chased away. “She’s so ugly and dirty; I don’t know why you guys still keep her around. What a waste of our family’s food!”

The air fell silent for a moment, and a hint of embarrassment flickered across the adults’ faces.

As soon as Yan Qing dashed outside, the cold rain soaked her to the bone.

But she didn’t stop. Squinting her eyes against the downpour, she quickly headed toward a nearby garden.

In the middle of the lush green garden stood a pavilion that could provide some shelter from the rain.

The heavy rain cast a gray pall over the world, and an oppressive feeling hung in the air.

Yan Qing rushed into the pavilion, plopping down on a stone bench, gasping for breath, while continually wiping her face. In just a few minutes, she was completely drenched.

Her condition was dire as she repeatedly adjusted herself, twisting the water out of her clothes and shivering intermittently.

At that moment, a strange figure caught her eye. In the drizzly grayness, she saw a man sitting in a wheelchair.

He had no covering and was just sitting in the rain, getting soaked. His not-so-short hair clung to his body, and he looked even more disheveled than Yan Qing.

This was a man.

Moreover… looking at the man’s missing legs on the wheelchair, it was clear he was a disabled person—a truly disabled person.

Yan Qing hesitated for a moment before running back into the rain and approaching him, trying to speak loudly over the storm, “Are you okay? Do you want to come in and get out of the rain?”

Through the rain, her clear, youthful voice rang out, making both of them pause in surprise.

Yan Qing was stunned, feeling as if she recognized this voice from long ago.

The man in the wheelchair twitched his ears, and his lowered head slowly lifted.

To be honest, Yan Qing felt as if she were in a horror film, but she knew clearly that this person was alive.

The heavy rain didn’t chill her as much as the slow, deliberate movements of the man in front of her, which sent chills down her spine and gave her goosebumps.

His movements were slow, but he still raised his head, the rain pouring down on him, locking eyes with her.

Yan Qing stared again, taken aback by the beauty of his face. His bone structure was exquisite, angular yet sharp, but he looked gaunt, giving him a frightening, eerie quality.

The man’s pale lips curled into a slight smile. It should have been a warm smile, but at that moment, it felt like that of a messenger from hell, rendering Yan Qing speechless.

Suddenly, a low voice drifted to her ears: “I love the feeling of being in the rain. Want to… join me?”

Yan Qing’s teeth chattered, and she stiffly shook her head.

The rain obscured her view, and she couldn’t see the man’s expression clearly, but she vaguely noticed that his smile seemed to widen after he spoke.
