After a while, the sound of gunfire came from far away and then slowly faded away.

When the two of them heard no more sound, Su Zirui breathed a sigh of relief and said, “Let’s go down.”

Ruan Ning nodded.

Just as they were about to go out, they heard footsteps on the stairs.

Ruan Ning glanced at Su Zirui and motioned him to be quiet.

Ruan Ning tiptoed to the window and found two men walking into the corridor with guns.

It represented two suns and one moon.

The two men continued to walk inside and began to search room by room.

The two men outside immediately shouted, “Who?”

Su Zirui shouted, “Brothers, I am a member of Area B of Tomorrow Base. I have an iron plate to prove it.”

As he said this, he raised his hands above his head, holding his iron plate in his right hand, and walked out of the house.

The two men outside did not put down their guns. They looked at Su Zirui.

One person asked, “Are you really from our base?”

Su Zirui said: “Of course, this is my iron plate, and there is a line drawn on it by San Ge.”

The man continued to ask: “When did you enter the base?”

“Just these two days.”

Su Zirui said, “Brother, I just came out to search for supplies. We are all from the same base. Please let me go.”

The other person narrowed his eyes immediately: “Did you find anything to eat?”

Su Zirui: “No, you can check my backpack. It’s empty now.”

The two men holding guns looked at each other.

One person said, “Pour it yourself.”

Su Zirui carefully took off his backpack and poured it onto the ground.

One of the two men lit a candle. There were all kinds of messes on the ground, including an iron porcelain basin, which seemed to be used to boil water for cooking.

The man holding the gun was unhappy: “How come you are so poor?”

Su Zirui said aggrievedly: “I have paid the fee for entering the base with compressed biscuits, and I just want to live safely for a few days.”

The man still didn’t put down the gun.

The man holding the candle came closer to Su Zirui and said, “I see you are so short, with a small face and delicate skin. How old are you this year?”

Su Zirui’s body stiffened because of his approach: “I am 18 years old, and I was originally a college student at the university across the street.”

“Still a college student?”

The man looked Su Zirui up and down: “Are you 1.7 meters tall?”

Su Zirui forced a smile: “Brother, height is my eternal pain. Please don’t mention it.”

“Did I insult you?” The man said with disdain.

“I see you look like a girl who deliberately hurt her throat and pretended to be a man.”

Su Zirui said immediately: “Really not! I am a real man of iron and blood. If you don’t believe me, I’ll take off my clothes and show you right away.”

The man said, “Then, take it off.”

Su Zirui could only drop the backpack in his hand and cross his hands to grab the hem of his clothes.
