SRTT Chapter 23.6

Ruan Ning did not hear the panicked cries of pain. She tilted her ear and heard a mixed sound of footsteps fleeing upstairs.

Fearing that someone would leave an ambush, Ruan Ning did not put down the bow and arrow immediately, but she waited quietly for a moment.

After about five or six minutes, she put down her bow and arrow, took out a candle, and lit it.

There was no one in the corridor.

The glass window had been shattered by her. Ruan Ning walked to the door cautiously and saw several pools of blood on the ground.

At nine o’clock the next morning, Ruan Ning woke up feeling refreshed.

Cheng Jikuan moved a chair outside and was leaning against the back of the chair with his eyes closed, resting.

Cheng Jikuan lowered his eyes: “Sorry for the trouble.”

Ruan Ning raised her eyebrows and thought that this man was too polite. It was just like what his sister said, a taciturn person.

“It’s not trouble. It won’t delay me.”

Cheng Jikuan nodded, left the chair, and went back to the house.

It looked like he planned to continue keeping watch tonight.

Ruan Ning couldn’t just wait outside like him, so she went back into the house, thought about it, and decided to do something fun today.

She had collected so many express deliveries before the rainstorm, but she hadn’t opened any of them yet.

She laid a soft cushion in the middle of the living room, sat cross-legged on it, and then randomly took out a courier box from the space.
