SRTT Chapter 2.3

This alone was not enough.

Ruan Ning also bought a lot of foldable water storage tanks, which could be unfolded to store water when the space became larger in the future.

In this store selling water towers, Ruan Ning discovered another good thing.

Indoor soilless cultivation planter.

The price was about 5,000 yuan, with a built-in lighting function, simulated sunlight, and water circulation system.

Very tempting, although she had a source of vegetables.

Ruan Ning was in a dilemma and hesitated for a long time, but finally, she gritted her teeth and placed an order for two units.

Compared with a piece of cold-proof clothes that cost more than 4,000 yuan, this price was really not expensive, and it would be very useful in the future.

If it weren’t for poverty and space constraints, Ruan Ning would buy 10,000 units!

You must know that before the end of the flood, the sun would erupt with a superflare. At that time, the global power system would be destroyed, and all kinds of electrical equipment would also be devastated.

During her free time, while taking a taxi, Ruan Ning took the time to read the beginning of the novel.

According to the description in it, when the solar flare came, most people were not prepared.

The damage rate of mobile phones was 100%, the damage rate of household appliances that were powered on was 100%, and even small and large factories all over the world were unable to operate.

The electronic components used in the car would be scrapped directly. Even if it was not on the road, but because the car had its own battery, it would also be impacted.

When the time came, it would be extremely difficult to change the spare part.

This super flare would make human technology regress hundreds of years.

Immediately after the flood apocalypse came, it was difficult for human beings to maintain basic survival, let alone develop science and technology.

Only the country still had a little bit of spare power, and after the end of the flood, they invested in soilless cultivation and other technologies, struggling to maintain the remaining glory of mankind.

However, it was different when electrical appliances were placed in her space. The equipment would not be damaged.

It was a pity that her space was only one hundred cubic meters, which was of some use to an individual, but to the entire country or the entire Blue Star, it was only a drop in the bucket.

As for making a big fuss about the end of the world online?

The result was most likely to fall on deaf ears, and she would be scolded by two or three netizens as a fool. If it was regarded as spreading rumors, she would be in trouble.

Ruan Ning didn’t dare to bet that her parents would come to this world.

If something went wrong and she didn’t stock up on enough supplies or died, what would her parents do?

The night came quietly.

Ruan Ning emptied the space of the external refrigerator, took out the stewed beef and cabbage, and had a sloppy but rich dinner.

In the evening, she continued to expand her shopping list.

In addition to the supplies purchased earlier, Ruan Ning also purchased medicines and medical equipment from different stores.

You must know that in addition to cold medicine, fever medicine, and vitamins, she could refresh them, so everything else must be bought in real terms.

She also needed to replenish masks, respirators, protective clothing, disinfectant, etc.

As her parents got older, they needed medication for chronic diseases such as heart disease and high blood pressure.

Ruan Ning also wanted to buy vaccines, such as tetanus, rabies, influenza, liver disease, etc., but unfortunately, she had no channels to buy them.

At the end of the world, human medical care would also be greatly reduced. These vaccines that were difficult to preserve would be hard to come by.

People with diabetes, for example, could only watch as the insulin in their homes broke down, and they were eventually swallowed up by the disease.

When the last payment was completed at 12 o’clock, Ruan Ning looked at the balance of her bank card and truly felt tears.

560,000 yuan deposit, excluding the balance payment for doors and windows, only 150,000 yuan was left!

The only thing that made Ruan Ning happy was her refrigerator plug-in.

A whole refrigerator full of dazzling supplies was refreshed on time. The picture was heart-warming.

It was getting late, so Ruan Ning decided to read the original novel to hypnotize her.

Speaking of this novel, it was very interesting.

For example, why the original owner had 560,000 yuan in cash was also a long story.

Solar Flare (Part-2)

Effects

This has important implications for understanding and predicting the effects of solar activity on the Earth and in space.

The electromagnetic radiation from solar flares directly affects the ionosphere (the upper, charged layer of Earth’s atmosphere) and radio communications. High-energy radiation can also energise and ionise particles along the way.

Meanwhile, the energetic particles moved along by CMEs can damage electronic equipment and astronauts or passengers in high-flying aircraft.

Additionally, a CME can deform Earth’s magnetic field, affecting the magnetic field direction (so you can’t trust your compass anymore) and even inducing electrical currents in Earth itself. This is called a geomagnetic storm, which can cause electrical power outages and damage communications satellites.
