“Her family conditions are good, but she can’t wrongly accuse me like this. Her family is just a dual-income family, and she bought so many things today. I’m afraid her family gave her all their savings. I don’t know how her family will live.”
Among the people in the front hall, Tang Lan was the most excited, “Is Comrade Yi really like this? When I was at work today, I heard the Captain’s wife and the Village Chief’s wife both praising her. Did she turn out to be such a person? You can’t judge a person by her appearance!”
“I feel sorry for you, Comrade Liu. We are both educated youths, how can she maliciously speculate about others? It’s hard enough to go to the countryside, but you don’t help each other. Alas!”
The two of them sang the same tune. Lu Zhendong had always been attentive to Tang Lan and admired her, so naturally, he had a bad impression of Comrade Yi.
Cai Chunshan didn’t think that there was anything wrong. He was just thinking about the appearance and figures of these female educated youths.
Lu Xianjin, who had just returned after talking to the Village Chief’s daughter, noticed that Comrade Yi’s family seemed to be very rich, but he didn’t know if she had any power.
On the other side, Zhao Fang and Zhou Qiang ate in silence. They just wanted to live their own lives well and didn’t care too much about others.
“I remember you borrowed the bicycle from me today, and I said we were not familiar with each other! Although Comrade Yi didn’t lend it to you, she at least told you that there was a supply and marketing cooperative in the commune. Why are you only gossiping about her?”
Yun Guyuan, who came out to fetch water, accidentally heard Liu Chunxing distort the facts and spoke his longest paragraph so far.
After Yun Guyuan went outside to fetch water, passed through the front hall, and disappeared into the back alley, the stagnant and awkward atmosphere in the hall was eased a little.
Tang Lan blinked, “Comrade Liu, is what this male comrade said true? Why didn’t you say it just now?”
Liu Chunxing lowered her head, not knowing what she was thinking, “But you are asking about Comrade Yi, so I naturally can’t mention others!”
Yi Qingqing, who was eating meat with big mouthfuls, had no idea about the quarrel in the front hall. Her enthusiasm for eating was not affected.
Before Yun Guyuan entered the house, he looked at the tightly closed door opposite. He heard the faint sound of humming coming from inside, and his eyes softened.
After eating, washing pots and dishes, boiling water, and taking a bath, Yi Qingqing climbed into bed early.
There was a sign-in location in the county that required 5 sign-in points, and there was also a 3-point sign-in location on the mountain that urged her, not to mention that there were so many sign-in locations that she had never tried.
It was a bit difficult to just rely on one sign-in point every day.
Now all she could think of was to learn skills diligently and make up for it by relying on the sign-in points awarded when skill upgrades.
Originally, after level 2 of cooking, she had not made much progress under Master Zhu’s teaching, and her skill progress had also stagnated.
But today when she made braised pork by herself, the progress bar that had not moved for a long time grew a little bit again. Only a little bit, but it was not a little bit different from the previous learning with Master Zhu.
This showed that skills could not only be improved in the skill teaching mode.
After getting started, she could also improve by studying on her own, but the speed was slower.
This was very reasonable. Self-study and teaching by others were both learning, so it was normal to have improvement.
Yi Qingqing, on the contrary, believed that this mechanism made the skill level on her panel more than just a number, but a real ability that belonged to her.
It was something she had acquired through hard work, and no one else could take it away.
Even if she loses this system one day, her ability will still be there.
In reality, the opportunity to cook was only three meals a day, so this needs to be polished slowly.
If the 5 sign-in points in the state-owned restaurant were also a cooking skill, perhaps there would be a wave of rapid improvement.
Now she just wanted to quickly upgrade her college entrance examination skills to level 2, which was only 10% away.

Translator’s Little Encyclopedia:
“Comrade” as a Form of Address
In Chinese, the translation of comrade is 同志 (pinyin: tóng zhì), literally meaning ‘(people with) the same spirit, goal, ambition, etc’.
It was first introduced in the political sense by Sun Yat-sen to refer to his followers. The Kuomintang (Nationalist Party), which was co-founded by Sun Yat-Sen, has a long tradition of using this term to refer to its members, usually as a noun rather than a title; for example, a KMT member would say “Mr. Chang is a loyal and reliable comrade (同志)”.
Nevertheless, the term was promoted most actively by the Chinese Communist Party during its struggle for power. It was used both as a noun and as a title for basically anyone in mainland China after the People’s Republic of China was founded.
For example, women were nü tongzhi (‘female comrade’), children were xiao tongzhi (‘little comrade’) and seniors were lao tongzhi (‘old comrade’).
However, after the 1980s and the onset of China’s market-oriented reforms, this term has been moving out of such daily usage. It remains in use as a respectful term of public address among middle-aged Chinese and members of the Chinese Communist Party. Within the Communist Party, failure to address a fellow member as tóng zhì is seen as a subtle but unmistakable sign of disrespect and enmity.
At the party or civil meetings, the usage of the term has been retained. Officials often address each other as Tongzhi, and thus the usage here is not limited to Communist Party members alone.
In addition, Tongzhi is the term of preference to address any national leader when their titles are not attached (e.g., Comrade Mao Zedong, Comrade Deng Xiaoping).
