The Shengde Auction House may be unheard of to ordinary people, but for true upper-class elites and cultivators, this is a rare opportunity. Here, you can purchase things that only exist in novels and myths for ordinary people.
This is why many people are scrambling to get a chance to enter the auction house. However, the number of people who can actually obtain an entry opportunity is very limited. After all, each item being auctioned is of great value, so there is a prerequisite condition – only those who meet this condition are qualified to enter.
Of course, there is also a way to enter, and that is to provide the auction item. As long as this item is approved by the auction house’s appraiser, then after paying a 10% commission fee on the final transaction price, one can enter the auction venue.
Luo Xiao and Ye Lan were both very curious becayse this was their first time attending such an auction. Seeing the full seating below, they couldn’t help but sigh: It’s still better here!
As for Mr. Huo, since he had come here once or twice when he was young, he was already quite familiar with the process. So he sat calmly in the chair, drinking tea and watching the situation below.
“Esteemed guests, welcome to this auction.” A middle-aged man in a navy blue robe and black-framed glasses announced in a loud voice. “I am Mou, the host of this auction. Now, let me introduce the important matters regarding this auction. A total of 30 items will be auctioned, 10 of which are rare, and 20 are treasures.”
Upon hearing that 10 out of the 30 items were rare, the audience immediately burst into lively discussion. The host on the stage remained calm, as if he had not just said something so significant.
Luo Xiao turned his head and looked at his master in confusion: “Master, what are ‘rare’ and ‘treasures’? And why are they so excited?”
Mr. Huo was also secretly surprised when he heard the ratio. Although he knew of the Shengde Auction House’s extraordinary capabilities, he didn’t expect a third of the items to be rare.
“The so-called ‘rare’ refers to items related to spiritual power, like the book we brought. ‘Treasures’ are ordinary items without spiritual power, such as rare gems and calligraphy paintings.” Mr. Huo explained, glancing at the lively scene below and then sweeping his gaze around the second floor. He quickly understood the situation, “They are so excited because of the number of rare items. You must know that in this era of scarce spiritual power, talent shortage, and declining sects, these rare items are rarely seen on the market. They are carefully preserved by their respective sects in fear of being snatched away.” After saying this, he unconsciously shot a sharp look at Luo Xiao and then sighed deeply. Why did he accept such a money-loving disciple!
Luo Xiao shrugged and expressed that he was truly short of money! Although he was a “hidden” wealthy man, he could onlt hide it helplessly.
After the discussion below gradually died down, the host continued to speak: “This auction is a bit different from previous ones. For the auction of rare items, in addition to cash payment, there is also the option of barter trade. As long as the owner of the rare item agrees to the exchange, the transaction can be completed regardless of the value of the exchanged item.”
These words further fueled the heated discussion. Some people even expressed various regrets, while others remained calm but inwardly delighted.
“Alright, I won’t waste any more time.” The host said, stepping aside and raising his voice. “Let’s start the auction now. Please welcome the first item.”
As the red curtain on the high platform was pulled up, a young woman in a pink cheongsam slowly walked out while carrying a tray covered with a red cloth.
Under the onlooker’s eager gaze, the red cloth was lifted, revealing a brown stone the size of an adult’s fist sitting on the plate.
“This stone was discovered in the main tomb chamber of the Lingwang Tomb. Based on all our detection methods so far, we are unable to determine the specific material of this stone or what its function is. So those interested in researching this item are welcome to bid, with a starting price of 100,000.”
As soon as the host finished speaking, the audience fell silen. No one wanted to bid on a stone of unknown origin and function. But when Luo Xiao saw the stone clearly, his eyes widened. This, this is…
Ye Lan, who was observing him silently naturally noticed the expression on Luo Xiao’s face. He quietly stood up, opened the door, and whispered a few words to the waiting attendant at the door, who then left.
Meanwhile, the host on the stage received a message. He twitched his mouth, but nodded and announced, “A guest has bid 100,001 yuan. Does anyone else want to bid higher?”
Seeing the silence below, the host had no choice but to reluctantly bring down the hammer: “Sold!”
Luo Xiao, having been too excited to bid, could only watch regretfully as the stone was about to be owned by someone else. Then the auction moved on to the next item.
Just as Luo Xiao turned his attention to the next item, a crisp knock came from the door. He turned around in confusion to see an attendant bringing in the stone and placing it on the table.
“Ah? This, could it be?” Luo Xiao looked at Ye Lan excitedly. Upon seeing Ye Lan’s slight nod, he couldn’t help but go over and give him a tight hug.
Ye Lan was momentarily taken aback, but then an idea formed in his mind, which would later lead to Luo Xiao frequently receiving all sorts of strange stones.
Luo Xiao suppressed his excitement and carefully examined the stone in his hand. It was indeed the same as the ones he had found before. Just to be sure, a thought flashed in his mind and a virtual panel appeared in his palm.
Based on the information displayed, Luo Xiao smiled happily. Of course, for Mr. Huo and Ye Lan who couldn’t see the panel, Luo Xiao just looked like he was staring at the stone and smiling like a fool.
The owner had just mentioned that they could bid on three items on for free. Now that they got one, there were two more to go. After obtaining this unrecognized spiritual stone, Luo Xiao excitedly waited for the next auction items.
Until the 19th item, they still hadn’t spotted anything of interest again. The 20th item was a beautifully embroidered black silk pouch. When Mr. Huo saw it, he immediately widened his eyes and instructed Ye Lan to call the attendant, informing him that they would be bidding on this item.
Watching the departing attendant, Luo Xiao curiously asked, “Master, is there something special about that pouch?”
Mr. Huo gave him a look. “You’re quite lucky, boy.”
“Huh?” Luo Xiao didn’t understand.
Mr. Huo tilted his head and said, “You will know after listening to the host’s introduction.”
“Ladies and gentlemen, you may be wondering why this seemingly ordinary pouch is here.” The host picked up the pouch and showed it carefully to the audience below, “But I must tell you, this pouch is anything but ordinary. It is in fact a spatial storage bag! That’s right, you didn’t hear it wrong. Just like the dimensional pouches we hear about in legends, despite its small size, it has a storage space of one cubic meter inside.”
As soon as the host finished speaking, the audience erupted in an uproar. This was a real spatial pouch, not just a mythical concept. Shoot! They had to bid and win it!
The host waited for the excitement to peak and then continued, “However, I must inform you all of one important detail. When the owner entrusted this spatial pouch to us, they said it can only be used by limited times, that is three times. The original owner has already used it once, and our auction house has used it once for verification. So now, there is only one use left for this spatial pouch. Are they any other guests who are interested in bidding for this item? The starting price is 1 million, and each bid must not be less than 100,000.”
As soon as these words came out, the enthusiasm of the audience suddenly decreased. But many people still participated in the bidding.
Luo Xiao understood now why his master was so eager to get this pouch after hearing the introduction. Yes, that’s right, it was for the 8 million in cash. This way, they could easily and safely transport the 8 million in cash to a secure location.
Because the space cannot be exposed, Luo Xiao also sighed in his heart: He is really lucky just as his master said!
In the end, they were able to win the bid for the one-use embroidered spatial pouch.
As the number of auction items decreased, the bidding atmosphere also grew increasingly tense. Of course, this not does include Luo Xiao’s group. They are able to bid for free, so they remained relaxed.
Because they knew that the last item would definitely be expensive, they decisively did not participate in the final auction and instead won a book on the Qimen Dunjia divination technique. Mr. Huo said this was a lost book from their sect and now they have to bid it back. Ye Lan and Luo Xiao both had no objections.
Sure enough, the final item was a vermilion pill that could prevent cultivators from going mad. Watching the crowd below cating crazy liked being injected by chicken blood, and listening to the soaring price, Luo Xiao patted his little heart. Wow, it’s really intense!
After the final item was sold, the auction was over. Luo Xiao’s group carefully placed the 8 million in cash into the spatial pouch and then cautiously left the place.
What they didn’t know was that the moment they left, a few shadowy figures quietly began to follow behind them…
