TSFLIP Chapter 942

Ming An looked at the table strewn with leftovers, his temple twitching. “You don’t look like much, but you sure can eat.”

“What did you say?” She fixed him with a sharp stare.

He laughed. “I said, since you’re done eating, we should head back.”

“No, I want to stay and breathe the air here a little longer.” She took a deep breath. “Once I go back, it’ll be back to days of starving one meal and barely full the next.”

For a moment, Ming An had the strange feeling that his school was abusing its students. “There are plenty of blood packs in the cafeteria,” he said.

“I won’t drink them.” She turned her head and huffed. “I like eating food. I love eating food.”

Ming An shrugged. “Then there’s nothing I can do.”

“Well, how about this…” She looked at him ingratiatingly. “Transfer me to Division B. That would solve everything.”

Ming An raised an eyebrow. “Oh? You want to go to Division B just to solve your dining problems?”

“O–of course. What else?”

“If I’m not mistaken,” he said lightly, “the guy you’re chasing is probably in Division B, isn’t he?”

She played dumb. “What are you talking about? I don’t understand a word.”

“When someone was crying her heart out, she said that part of the reason she came here was to pursue her ‘dream guy.’” Ming An took another sip of wine, the smile on his lips lazy, a faint haze of drunkenness in his eyes.

Feng Guang glanced at him and, to her surprise, found that this man had a peculiar charm when he was slightly tipsy. Her gaze drifted. “Did I ever say that?”

“Could it be that I remembered wrong?”

“Yes. You remembered wrong.”

Ming An set down his glass and stared at her for a long moment. Then he smiled with certainty. “No, I didn’t remember wrong. In your memories, you really did say that.”

A stream of scrambled thoughts flashed through Feng Guang’s mind. Did he really have to be this overpowered? Casually flipping through her memories like that—did she have any privacy left at all?

Apparently not. After all, she’d eaten his food; it was hard to stand her ground.

Ming An added calmly, “I don’t know who that boy is, but Division B only has humans. If you’re interested in humans, that’s one thing. But if it’s a hunter…” He paused. “As an elder, I’d advise you to drop the idea. Besides, you’re not just any vampire—you’re pure-blooded. Even if your parents agreed, the Council of Elders would never approve of you being with someone who isn’t pure-blood.”

She fell silent for a long while. “Everything you said… I know.”

“Knowing is one thing,” he replied. “Not making the mistake is another.”

She looked up at him. “Do you have to be this understanding?”

“Unfortunately,” he said with a grin, “being understanding is one of the few flaws I have.”

She muttered, “Such thick skin…”

“Is that a compliment?”

“Of course not!”

“I’ll take it as one anyway.” He smiled. “Feng Guang really is a respectful and dutiful student.”

She had nothing to say.

By the time Ming An finished all the wine in front of him, he was idly spinning an empty bottle in his hand. “It’s almost midnight now. Are you sure you’re not heading back?”

No one answered.

He looked up, only then realizing that while he’d been drinking himself into a daze, she had fallen asleep at the table at some point, her head resting on her arms.

Once again, he couldn’t help thinking that Xia Feng Guang was truly the strangest vampire he’d ever met. Midnight—the peak hour for vampire activity—and she was fast asleep, snoring away.
