Mu Tianze looked at the scenery in front of him, his eyes rebellious. He spoke as if giving an order, “I want to break off our engagement.”

“I only agreed because it was a marriage of convenience. It didn’t matter who I married.”

“Is it because you’ve found someone you like, right?” Feng Guang asked with a “heartbroken” expression, her eyes brimming with tears.

She was already beautiful, and now, with the hint of tears, she looked even more pitiful. Yet Mu Tianze felt no sympathy for her at all. He only found women troublesome—always crying over every little thing. That stubborn little girl, Fang Yaya, was much more fun. “Think whatever you want. But this engagement—I will break it.”

Compensation? Did he think she was a beggar waiting for charity?

Feng Guang clenched the hem of her school uniform skirt. “I don’t want any compensation, Mu Tianze. Do you want to break off the engagement? Your parents will never agree to it!”

“I… I wasn’t spying on purpose!” Fang Yaya stepped out and tossed something to him. “Your cousin couldn’t find you in the classroom, so he asked me to give this to you.”

It was a car key. Mu Tianze’s last car had been confiscated by his dad because of his reckless driving. But what his dad didn’t know was that he had secretly bought an even cooler car, which he had stashed in his cousin’s garage.

“I was wondering where my car key went. Turns out I left it at my cousin’s place.”

Under the sunlight, Mu Tianze’s profile looked carefree and unruly. Fang Yaya’s mind went blank for a moment. After a pause, she asked cautiously, “That new student… is she your fiancée?”

“Not for long,” Mu Tianze said with a glance at her. “Why, are you suddenly interested in my business?”

Fang Yaya’s face turned red. “No, I’m not! I was just asking!”

“Why are you so worked up? I was just asking too,” Mu Tianze said, flashing a mischievous smile as he stuffed his hands into his pockets and swaggered off.

Watching his cocky back, Fang Yaya couldn’t help but wish she could kick him.
