She casually stopped one student to ask which floor the dean’s office was on. The poor boy looked absolutely terrified and blurted out, “Third floor!” Fengguang climbed up and soon came to an open study. She stepped inside without hesitation and found an elderly man with a graying beard sitting behind a desk piled with documents.

“Excuse me, sir—are you the dean?”

The old man looked up at the sound of her voice. The instant he recognized her, his pen slipped from his hand and clattered to the floor. “P-Princess! What brings you here?”

“I… just wanted to have a look around,” she said with a sheepish smile.

“Please, have a seat,” he urged, gesturing to the chair across from him. Once she sat down, he asked, “I heard you only recently woke up. Why not rest a little longer at home?”

“Staying cooped up in a room gets dull. I just wanted some fresh air.”

“The princess must be here to see Master Su, then. Allow me to summon him at once.”

Seeing him about to rise, Fengguang quickly stopped him. “No need. My main purpose today is just to wander around.”

“Ah, of course. After all, the princess has lost her memories…”

Her gaze lifted. “How did you know I lost my memory?”

The dean froze for an instant, then recovered smoothly. “I heard it from Master Su. These past few days, he’s been working in the apothecary, researching ways to restore your memory.”

“I see.” Fengguang curved her lips into a faint smile.

The old man couldn’t tell whether she truly believed him, so he stroked his beard and decisively changed the subject. “Since the princess has forgotten, you may also not recall who I am. Allow me to introduce myself—I am the dean of this academy, Taibai Jinxing.”
