TSFLIP Chapter 620

At that moment, Fengguang saw a man in black standing not far away. His tall figure stood out strikingly against the sea of red flowers. He seemed to be staring absentmindedly at a butterfly fluttering in front of him. Slowly, he lifted a hand and extended his index finger, perhaps trying to touch it, but for some reason, he hesitated and drew his hand back.

The butterfly gradually flew away from him, and the aura of deathly stillness around him spread outward. Aside from the red spider lilies swaying gently in the wind, it felt as if he were the only soul left in the entire world.

Fengguang instinctively stopped in her tracks. For a moment, she had the illusion that if she were to disturb him now, she’d be shattering his peace—and that would make her an unforgivable villain.

As she hesitated, the man—Na He—turned his head. He glanced at her indifferently, then shifted his gaze away and began walking in another direction.

Fengguang hurried to catch up, instinctively grabbing his arm. “Wait! You can’t just leave!”

“Don’t touch me!” he snapped, violently flinging her hand away. In the blink of an eye, he had moved three paces away from her.

She lost her balance and fell to the ground. Thankfully, the area was full of soft plants and flowers, so it didn’t hurt much when she landed on her butt, but that didn’t stop her from feeling a surge of frustration and a wave of grievance. She was the dignified eldest daughter of the Xia family—when had anyone ever treated her with such disdain?

“You’re such a rude man, Na He!” she accused.

Na He looked at her in silence, making no move to help her up. Three seconds passed… then five… then thirty. For the first time, something resembling emotion flickered across his previously vacant eyes—confusion.

Fengguang had no idea what he was confused about. She didn’t get up either, just sat there on the ground. After a moment, she covered her face with her hands. Her shoulders trembled slightly, and the sound of soft, suppressed sobs reached his ears.

Finally, he asked, “What’s wrong?”

“I got hurt when I fell!” she sniffled, her voice full of wronged indignation. Her small, fragile frame trembled as she cried, tugging at any onlooker’s heartstrings.

Unfortunately, Na He wasn’t one to possess compassion. He simply responded coldly, “Oh,” and turned to walk away again.

This time, Fengguang didn’t say anything to stop him. She didn’t leap up and block his path either.

But after just a few steps, he halted and looked back at her curled-up figure. He could still hear her soft sobbing.

A moment later, he said, “Black and White Impermanence will be patrolling this area soon.”

She gave no response.

“They’ll take away any wandering spirits or lost souls they find.”

Still seated on the ground, she turned her back to him and spoke in the most pitiful, tearful voice: “And I only became a wandering soul because of you.”

Na He: “……”

“Let them take me,” she said with resigned acceptance. “There’s always the Eighteen Levels of Hell. Even if I can’t reincarnate, there’s gotta be some place to throw me.”

She sniffled again, as if all hope were gone, and cried even harder.

Then she heard soft footsteps approaching. But she didn’t look up—she was too busy crying her heart out.

He said, “Come with me.”

“I’m not going… you’re just gonna toss me into the Tongue-Pulling Hell or deep-fry me in oil anyway…”

He was quiet for a long time.

Then he said, “I’ll take you back.”
