TSFLIP Chapter 379

Feng Guang said, “Young Master Jin, my master’s thoughts are my own. I wish only to focus on my cultivation and have no interest in romantic relationships.”

She hadn’t expected that the conversation she had with Fang Yue about Chi Songzi would now apply to her—though, of course, she was only pretending.

Shang Baizi chuckled. “The Xuan Sect has plenty of female disciples. Perhaps Young Master Jin could take an interest in someone else. As for Feng Guang…”

He didn’t finish his sentence, but his tone made it clear: You’re not worthy.

Something in Shang Baizi’s words triggered a thought in Feng Guang. She glanced at Li Qing behind her. “Junior Sister, since Young Master Jin has traveled a long way, please take him to a guest room to rest.”

“Yes, Senior Sister.” Being personally assigned by Feng Guang, Li Qing was visibly excited. But as she stepped in front of Jin Ye, she immediately put on a sullen expression. “Come with me.”

Jin Ye remained gracious, smiling. “If Junior Sister Feng Guang changes her mind, she is always welcome to seek me out.”

Feng Guang didn’t respond.

Jin Ye didn’t seem embarrassed either and simply followed Li Qing out.

Afterward, Feng Guang and Shang Baizi bid farewell to Xuan Qingzi and left the main hall together.

As they walked, Shang Baizi remarked, “Jin Ye showing up so suddenly… There’s a good chance he has another motive. Junior Sister, don’t let yourself be swayed by him.”

“I have no interest in him. But, Senior Brother, I do have a favor to ask of you.”

“Oh? What is it?”

It was rare for Feng Guang to use the word favor, so Shang Baizi was understandably surprised.

“I’d like to ask you to take in that child, Xiaoxiao, as your disciple.”

Shang Baizi was stunned. “What? That unpleasant little brat? Junior Sister, why are you suddenly taking an interest in such an unruly girl?”

“She’s not as bad as you say.”

“Did you forget how you got injured?” Shang Baizi tapped his fan against her head. “I don’t get it. If you like her, why not take her as your disciple yourself? Why ask me?”

“I don’t have the time to teach her.” It was true—she was known for her relentless training. “Besides, I’m worried that others wouldn’t be able to handle her properly. That’s why I can only ask you. Once you spend some time with her, you’ll see she’s a good kid.”

Shang Baizi shrugged, unconvinced.

“Senior Brother, this is the only thing I’ll ever ask of you.”

He sighed. “Alright, alright. Since it’s a request from my dear Junior Sister, how could I possibly refuse?”

“Thank you, Senior Brother.”

With Xiaoxiao’s apprenticeship settled, Feng Guang felt as if a burden had been lifted from her heart. Xiaoxiao was fearless and unruly—if she ended up under the strict guidance of one of the elders, she would surely suffer. Shang Baizi, on the other hand, wouldn’t take offense even if the child misbehaved, making him the perfect choice.

Due to Jin Ye’s presence in the Xuan Sect, Feng Guang mostly stayed on Haomiao Peak and rarely ventured out. After a few idle days, she suddenly remembered that when Li Qing came looking for her, she had taken back the Hanyuan Sword without even saying goodbye to Fang Yue. That was rather rude of her.

To avoid awkwardness in future conversations, she took out the Hanyuan Sword and tentatively asked, “Fang Yue, are you there?”

A quiet voice replied, “I’m here.”

Feng Guang glanced at the sky outside. “It doesn’t seem like your usual sword practice time.”

So why was he holding the Hanyuan Sword?

“There are signs of the demon seal weakening in the Demon-Suppressing Tower. By my sect’s orders, I’m reinforcing the seal.”

“What? You’re inside the Demon-Suppressing Tower?” Feng Guang was shocked. The tower imprisoned countless dangerous demons and was considered a forbidden area. Even the sect leader and elders couldn’t guarantee their safety if they entered. No wonder Fang Yue was keeping the Hanyuan Sword close at all times.
