TSFLIP Chapter 355

“Stop.” Fengguang halted, standing under a tree. The sunlight filtered through the leaves, casting a dim, uncertain glow on her face.

The system paused the countdown.

Both she and it were silent.

After a while, a black car pulled up by the roadside. The driver rolled down the window and, with an unmistakable melancholic tone, asked, “Miss Xia, would you like to get in?”

It was Yu Shu.

Fengguang glanced down at her bare feet before getting into Yu Shu’s car. She sat in the passenger seat without sparing him even a glance. “What are you doing here?”

“I heard Director Qiu say that his friend, who had been in a coma at the hospital, suddenly woke up. But apparently, this friend refused to let anyone visit him. He’s rumored to have hidden a beauty in his hospital room.”

She responded coldly, “Oh.”

“Miss Xia, it’s a pleasant surprise to see you’re still alive. That day when you went missing from Xinghai Building, Liu Han was worried for a long time. Miss Luo said you were taken away by a man, but it seems Miss Luo was also quite shaken by something.”

“Mm.”

“With you looking like this, walking on the street, you might make the headlines tomorrow.”

“Mm.”

“I can’t believe I didn’t think of it sooner. Walking barefoot on the street is a perfect way to make the news.”

“Mm.”

Yu Shu glanced at her. “Looks like you are disheartened.”

Fengguang turned her head to look at him and slowly said, “None of your business.”

Yu Shu wasn’t offended. He seemed a bit pleased. “The fact that I’ve met you here so coincidentally, you should believe my sixth sense is pretty strong, right?”

“What good is that?”

“Miss Xia, you’re a public figure. You can’t speak so rudely.”

“Shut up.”

“Alright, seeing that you’re heartbroken, I won’t argue with you. We’ve arrived, get out.”

Fengguang paused for a moment, then got out of the car with him, only to realize they had arrived at a shopping mall.

Yu Shu smiled slightly. “Follow me.”

“Why did you bring me here?”

Yu Shu walked into the mall and spoke to the manager. Within moments, all the customers were asked to leave under the guise of a maintenance check. Soon, the entire large mall was empty, leaving only Yu Shu and Fengguang as the remaining guests.

Yu Shu said, “With our status, it’s better to rent the place. Also, it’s not very gentlemanly to let a lady walk barefoot on the floor.”

Fengguang’s face remained expressionless. “Must be nice to have money to burn.”

To rent out an entire upscale mall, how much would that cost?

Yu Shu shrugged. “Well, I found a place to spend some money, didn’t I?”

They walked to the shoe section, where the manager took over from the sales staff and personally began to explain and promote various designs. The women’s shoes were indeed varied—some intricate and detailed, others simple and plain—but the one thing they all had in common was that they looked incredibly expensive.

Seeing that Fengguang didn’t seem interested, the manager hurriedly brought over several other styles, trying to make another sale. Unfortunately, Fengguang still wasn’t very interested.

The shoes were beautiful, but they also looked uncomfortable to wear. And aside from attending various events, she never wore high-heeled shoes.

Yu Shu, however, remained patient. He knew that women often took their time when shopping, carefully selecting what they wanted, wasting plenty of time.

Just then, a man in work clothes walked over. In his hand, he held a pair of simple white flats. They had no unnecessary embellishments—the only feature was their simplicity.

“Miss Xia, how about these shoes?”
