TSFLIP Chapter 189

If there were a single phrase to describe Xue Ran’s feelings at that moment, it would be that he had lived a life of restraint for many years, a vegetarian who had never tasted meat, and today, a platter of fine meat lay before him, the choice to indulge or abstain entirely up to him.

Moreover, what lay before him wasn’t just any ordinary meat; it was a tantalizing, seductive kind.

Hmm, perhaps that metaphor was a bit strange.

Feng Guang removed her hand from covering his mouth and moved it to rest on his chest. “Your heart is racing, Doctor Xue~”

Xue Ran felt a current of electricity surge from his spine upward, a sensation that made his heart race. Every time she deliberately lowered her voice to call him “Doctor Xue,” the way her tone rose at the end had a power that made his insides melt. He had a fleeting illusion that the question of whether to eat meat was no longer in his hands, but hers instead.

What a joke; after all, he was the man here.

Somehow, a voice in his head insisted that she needed to know who should be on top. Grabbing her arm, he rolled over, switching their positions and pinning her beneath him.

“Miss Xia, your heart is racing too.”

Feng Guang widened her eyes in surprise, not understanding how he suddenly became so assertive. However, she didn’t mind this newfound dominance. She instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck and spoke in a dreamy tone, “Maybe you could do something a little outrageous to me.”

Xue Ran swallowed hard. Though he maintained his usual calm and elegant demeanor, there was a shadow in his eyes. He was struggling, even if he didn’t quite understand why.

Her body was so soft, so enticing that he found it almost impossible to resist.

Finally, clarity returned to his dark eyes. He got off her and quickly said, “Miss Xia, please rest well,” before hurriedly leaving.

Feng Guang sat up on the bed. She didn’t feel any sense of regret; instead, she stroked her chin and thought, it seems even the aloof doctor isn’t without emotions. After all, if he truly had a heart as calm as water, how could he possibly be a rival to the male lead?

Meanwhile, Qing Yu watched his master rush back into his room. He hadn’t had the chance to ask how the crying girl in the next room was doing when he saw his master soaking a towel in cold water, and then placing the damp cloth over his face.

He dared not ask, “Master, why are your ears so red…?”

The next day, at the inn’s entrance.

A yawning Feng Guang appeared, stretching as she walked. She glanced at the two people waiting for her and cheerfully greeted them, “Good morning!”

It looked like she had a good night’s sleep.

Qing Yu threw her a wrapped bun, mockingly saying, “You know you need to hurry but you still woke up so late. Did you go out stealing last night?”

“Yes,” Feng Guang unexpectedly replied, nodding. “Last night, I went out to steal hearts.”

Xue Ran, pretending to admire the scenery, turned his back, unwilling to look at her.

Qing Yu, unaware of the little secret between them, scoffed at Feng Guang. “You, an ugly thing, stealing hearts? Did you steal the heart of some Wang Ermazi?”

Given the way her face was flushed with spots at that moment, only someone as unattractive as Wang Ermazi would be worthy of her.

“Yep, I stole the heart of some Wang Ermazi,” she replied with a radiant smile as she bit into the bun and hopped onto the carriage.

Qing Yu murmured, “What’s up with her today? She’s not even arguing with me. Has she turned over a new leaf? Master, something seems off about Xia Fengguang today.”

Xue Ran replied expressionlessly, “When we return, copy the Book of Poisons a hundred times.”

Qing Yu froze. “Master, the Book of Poisons has seven hundred eighty-five pages!”

Ignoring his outburst, Xue Ran climbed into the carriage.
