Just when Fengguang thought Shen Wuyan would be at a loss for words, she was taken by surprise as he approached her with a cold smile. She felt a wave of unease wash over her and instinctively stepped back until her back hit a tree. “Shen… Shen Wuyan, what do you want?”
Although she wasn’t afraid of him, he was still a strong man, and she couldn’t be sure he wouldn’t do something out of anger. She wasn’t scared of Shen Wuyan; she was just feeling a bit anxious.
Even she didn’t quite believe that reasoning.
Suddenly, Shen Wuyan reached out and grasped her chin, his voice steady and dark as he said, “So what does it say about you, picking an old man as your fiancé?”
“Who hasn’t had a moment of bad judgment when they were young?” Fengguang replied naturally but immediately wished she could slap herself for saying that. She mentally scolded herself and raised her hand to push his hand away from her chin, but her strength was too weak. All she could do was bite her lip in frustration, refusing to lose her composure!
Shen Wuyan found it puzzling that she was trembling yet looked defiantly at him. Without her saying a word, he took a gentlemanly step back, a pleased smile gracing his lips. “Miss Xia, you have a pair of dog eyes. I’ll remember that.”
He then produced a handkerchief from somewhere and wiped the hand that had just touched Fengguang, every movement executed with utmost grace. He left her with a smile that made the young girl clench her teeth in frustration as he turned away.
“Ah! Shen Wuyan, that guy!” Fengguang shouted, kicking the tree trunk in anger, only to remember she was wearing sandals. This made matters worse, as she squatted down, clutching her sore toes and shedding tears from the pain.
Not far away, sitting on the back seat of a bicycle, Guo Ming tapped the shoulder of the person in front of him. “Hey, Ouxun, look over there. A girl is crying.”
“Oh.” The boy called Ouxun showed no interest, barely bothering to turn his head.
Guo Ming clicked his tongue. “From her back, she looks like a beauty. Why don’t you go comfort her?”
“Why me?” Ouxun’s feet hit the ground as he was pulled by the person behind him, forcing him to stop pedaling.
“Because I’m married now.”
“Yeah.” He replied lazily, “In the game.”
“What’s wrong with being married in a game? I plan to meet my wife in real life later! Besides, that girl might have just broken up with her boyfriend and is feeling down. What if I go comfort her and she ends up liking me? Ouxun, you’re so heartless. That girl is pitiful; at least go give her some tissues to wipe her tears!”
Guo Ming’s long-winded speech was met with nothing but a bored glance from Ouxun.
“Do you not have any tissues? I do!” Guo Ming got off the bike, rummaged through his backpack, and pulled out a pack of tissues, with the restaurant’s name printed on it. He shoved it into Ouxun’s hands. “Go on! I’ll keep an eye on the bike. Remember, speak softly and smile more. Don’t look so serious; whether you can find a girlfriend in your final college years depends on this chance!”
Guo Ming had ulterior motives; there was no way his usual behavior of approaching pretty girls would allow him to pass up this opportunity for Ouxun. He only felt guilty for leaving Ouxun, who had been single for four years, even if it was just a game wife.
Ouxun glanced at Guo Ming, who was giving him a thumbs-up. With a heavy sigh, as if he carried the weight of the world, he walked over.
“Are you okay?”
Suddenly, a pack of tissues appeared in his line of sight, and Fengguang looked up from her tears.
Ouxun’s outstretched hand froze.
