Feng Guang hadn’t expected there to be so many mosquitoes at night. She tossed and turned, unable to sleep, while next to her, Fang Yayao had already blissfully fallen asleep. Gritting her teeth, she looked at Fang Yayao’s sleeping face, filled with envy and jealousy, wondering why the mosquitoes didn’t bite her instead!

She decided to go outside for some fresh air, carefully avoiding Fang Yayao. Stepping out of the tent, she noticed the moonlight was beautiful tonight. If it weren’t for her irritation, she thought she might have enjoyed the lovely night scenery more.

Just as she was considering whether to call An Tong outside, someone stepped out of the neighboring tent. With a tall and handsome figure, a gentle demeanor, and impeccable features, it was none other than An Tong.

Upon seeing Feng Guang, he revealed a predictable smile. “Can’t sleep?”

“I’m going to be bitten to death by mosquitoes,” Feng Guang said, walking over to him for comfort. She raised her hand, “Look, I have two bites here, and another one here, and one more here…”

On her legs and arms, wherever her skin was exposed, several little red spots stood out. She pointed out each one, hoping to elicit his sympathy.

An Tong didn’t disappoint her with her act of looking pitiful; he pulled her into an embrace, genuinely concerned. “You’re suffering.”

“It’s not that bad,” she said with a sly smile, playfully resting her hand on his chest. “Why are you out here? Did that Mu Tianze guy snore and disturb your sleep?”

“No,” he shook his head with a smile, “Tianze is very quiet; he didn’t bother me. I came out because I guessed you wouldn’t be able to sleep.”

Feng Guang blinked in curiosity. “How did you know?”

“Just a feeling.”

She corrected him, “It’s a heart-to-heart connection.”

“Yes, we have a heart-to-heart connection,” he echoed her words, his tone dripping with affection that was impossible to hide.

Feng Guang felt satisfied and lazily leaned against him, sighing wistfully, “I wish I could sleep next to you.”

An Tong’s eyes sparkled with barely concealed amusement. “While I love hearing you say that, you mustn’t let anyone else hear it; otherwise, you’d be laughed at.”

“But I want to sleep with you,” she said shamelessly. In truth, she wasn’t being completely unreserved; she just felt like being spoiled and acted coyly whenever she was with him.

An Tong’s fingertip grazed her cheek, his dark eyes resembling a vortex that drew her in. “Wait until you’re of age; then I’ll sleep next to you.”

His voice was steady and powerful.

This wasn’t just playful teasing; it was a declaration.

Feng Guang’s heart raced; she understood what he meant, and it felt like fireworks exploded in her mind, making it hard to focus. Her face flushed with heat.

As An Tong noticed her face turning an unbecoming shade of red, he was about to wonder if she was too shy to speak when she suddenly buried her face in his chest, her muffled voice rising from below, “Three more months until my birthday.”

An Tong felt a surge of blood rushing to his head, his heartbeat quickening.

She timidly raised her head. “If you stand here for too long… won’t your legs hurt?”

Even with her shyness, she still cared about his well-being.

“It’s fine, I’m feeling much better now.” An Tong reached out to lift her chin, his deep-set eyes narrowing slightly. “Feng Guang, have you ever been kissed?”

Lost in the depths of his deliberately lowered voice, she shook her head blankly.

An Tong smiled. He lowered his head and suddenly pressed his lips against hers. Instinctively, she parted her lips, and this kiss allowed no room for refusal. Her initial shock turned into a lingering embrace, and even as she gasped for air, An Tong sought to capture every bit of breath left in her.
