“Welcome, distinguished guests, to Glass Island. I am the island’s butler; you may call me Butler Sen. This is our maid, Ah Hua. A sumptuous dinner and hot water have been prepared for you at the manor…”
Before Butler Sen could finish his introduction, the thug impatiently waved his hand: “Alright, alright, hurry up and take us to the manor. We’ve been on the ship for so long, and we’re starving!”
Butler Sen wasn’t annoyed at being interrupted; instead, he wore an apologetic smile: “I apologize; it was my oversight. Guests, please follow me.”
The old man frowned slightly at the thug’s attitude, muttering under his breath, “Truly ill-mannered.”
The thug walking in front heard his words and immediately stopped, turning around to glare at the old man.
“What did you say? Say it again!”
Seeing that a fight was about to break out, those around immediately stepped forward to stop them.
The man with glasses advised, “Hey, it’s fate that we’ve all gathered here in this vast sea of people. Don’t let such a small matter ruin our harmony.”
The middle-aged doctor also chimed in, “Both of you, please give the island’s owner some face and compromise.”
With everyone’s persuasion, the conflict temporarily subsided.
Bei Yutang stood at the back of the crowd, her gaze constantly observing everyone present.
From the moment she woke up until now, she had roughly guessed some things.
They were probably participating in some kind of game, brought to this isolated island. The eight of them had to pass the owner’s test; the one who remained would be the winner, receiving a ten-million-yuan prize.
If it were just a simple game, she wouldn’t be here.
So it was clear this island wasn’t so peaceful.
If there was a plot, it would be much more convenient for her; at least she could know in advance what would happen next.
