“Nine hundred thousand.” Bei Yutang added.
Although they were in a corner, there were still jade merchants wandering around. When they saw what was happening between Bei Yutang and Chen Feifeng, they stopped to watch them. One or two stopped, and gradually, three, four, or even more people gathered to watch.
This scene played out every year on the winding jade road, a spectacle everyone never tired of.
“Hey, isn’t that the new kid from China? I think his name is Chen Feifeng. Why is he competing with a little girl? I heard that Chen is very skilled, and the stones he cuts are all top-grade.” Someone recognized Chen Feifeng.
Upon hearing this, the people nearby instinctively said, “Could it be that the rough stone is something special?”
Everyone looked at the unremarkable rough stone with curiosity. Judging from its appearance, it didn’t look like a good piece.
Just as everyone was speculating that the rough stone must be something special, someone recognized Bei Yutang.
“That little girl looks so much like Bei Yutang, the daughter of the Bei Group.”
“Now that you mention it, it’s really her.”
Thailand and Myanmar are neighboring countries, and over 80% of the merchants buying jade here are from Country H. Therefore, it’s common to see many familiar faces in the jade industry here; it’s normal for everyone to know each other.
Speaking of Bei Yutang, people immediately recalled the incident that occurred in Kun City a few months ago, which shocked the entire jade industry. After all, that jade factory unexpectedly produced blood jade, emerald, and imperial green jade on the same day.
Afterward, even the jade factory owner felt bad, feeling like he’d snuck away a piece of top-grade jade for nothing.
This incident caused such a sensation that anyone in the jade industry couldn’t help but know about it.
Now that the two people had been recognized, and looking at the current situation, they immediately guessed what was going on.
“Oh, the rough stone these two are eyeing looks like a fine piece.” Someone remarked.
Some even showed interest, almost wanting to get involved.
By this time, the price had soared from the initial 500,000 to 1.5 million.
Bei Yutang and Chen Feifeng both noticed the reactions of their surroundings. For Bei Yutang, as long as the jade didn’t fall into Chen Feifeng’s hands, she didn’t care.
As for Chen Feifeng, he didn’t want to throw away this piece of top-grade jade.
Chen Feifeng waited for Bei Yutang to say something so he could respond, misleading outsiders into thinking they were bidding on the rough stone out of spite, rather than recognizing its extraordinary value.
However, he miscalculated.
Bei Yutang remained silent, leaving him with no room for explanation.
Sure enough, someone lost their patience.
“I’ll bid 1.7 million.” A jade dealer from Fujian said.
Bei Yutang decisively raised the price, “2 million.”
Chen Feifeng followed suit, “2.1 million.”
Another bidder, “2.2 million.”
Chen Feifeng followed suit, “2.3 million.”
“2.4 million.” The Fujian businessman said.
Bei Yutang withdrew from the bidding. It was up to another merchant to compete with Chen Feifeng.
Seeing Bei Yutang withdraw, Chen Feifeng was delighted and decided to offer the highest price to oust the other competitors.
“Four million.” Chen Feifeng shouted directly.
This price was undoubtedly high. Considering the piece in front of him was only a piece of rough stone the size of a stool, and its quality was poor, it wasn’t even a half-bet, so this price was already astronomical.
